Developer Crossbridge Game Studios and publisher Shochiku Games have confirmed that Moomin: Midsummer Madness will launch in Autumn 2026 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, with a physical Nintendo Switch edition arriving at launch. The announcement landed on Moomin's Day, the annual celebration tied to Tove Jansson's birthday.

The cozy point-and-click adventure draws from Jansson's 1954 novel Moominsummer Madness, following the Moomin family after a great flood submerges Moominvalley and sends them to a strange floating theater. Players will switch between characters and use their traits to push the story forward, working through puzzles via dialogue, area interaction, and mini-games.

The game uses hand-drawn art inspired by Jansson's original illustrations, with locations like the Moominhouse and the floating theater rendered in a style meant to stay close to the classic books. It includes moments from the source material alongside new storylines built for this adaptation, and a hint system is included for younger players or anyone after a more relaxed pace.

The release covers both current and next-gen Nintendo hardware, and the game is listed on Steam ahead of its autumn window.
