A removable battery returns to Android tablets through Lenovo's new ThinkTab X11, a rugged device built for industrial environments rather than consumer use.

The tablet debuted at MWC 2026 with a focus on frontline workers in manufacturing, construction, and energy sectors. Its standout feature is a screwless removable battery that enables continuous operation through direct power connections, eliminating concerns about battery degradation during extended shifts.

Lenovo's first rugged Android tablet carries IP68 certification for dust and water resistance alongside MIL-STD-810H durability testing.

The ThinkTab X11 supports glove and wet-touch input for job site conditions where standard touchscreens fail.

Power comes from Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset paired with dual USB-C ports for flexible connectivity options. The 11-inch display offers a 2560x1600 resolution at 90Hz refresh rate with 600 nits brightness for outdoor visibility.

Pricing starts at $499 with availability scheduled from April 2026 across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa according to NotebookCheck. The company hasn't confirmed US availability plans.

The tablet will launch with Android 16 and receive two operating system upgrades, matching typical enterprise device support cycles rather than consumer update schedules.
