Kogado Studio is pulling another deep cut from its back catalog. Neosphere of The Deep-blue Sky: Legacy, a remaster of the 2005 city-building sim, hits Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam in spring 2027.

It follows Tristia: Legacy as the second entry in the studio's Aoi remaster project. The original Neosphere launched for PC in Japan in 2005 and later landed on PS2 and PSP. This remaster brings "beautifully updated" graphics and "systems optimized for modern gameplay," Kogado said, though exact changes remain under wraps until closer to launch.

The setting shifts from Tristia's seaside city to the floating sky kingdom of Neosphere. Players control novice inventor Nanoca Flanca, taking on invention requests and managing city development through simulation and crafting mechanics. The goal: rebuild a kingdom that's been in decline since the world unification wars.

The newly anointed queen sent for Nanoca's grandfather, E-technology pioneer Prospero Flanka, but he couldn't make the trip, so his granddaughter answered the call. The remaster supports English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese at launch, a upgrade from the original's Japan-only release. That opens the door for Western audiences who missed the PC cult hit the first time around.

Kogado hasn't detailed pricing or specific platform features yet. More specifics on the remaster are expected in the coming months.
