Google has widened access to the student hub inside its Gemini app, opening the learning space to Workspace for Education users of all ages after an initial run limited to personal accounts. The hub collects Gemini's study features in one place, letting students start a study notebook, build flashcards and take a practice quiz, with the company saying future learning tools will land there too.
The rollout is live now for both Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains, according to the announcement. Availability covers all Google Workspace customers and Workspace Individual subscribers outside the European Economic Area, plus personal Google account holders worldwide. Users can reach the hub at gemini.google.com/students or by picking Students from the Gemini app menu.

Admins keep the controls they already have. The Gemini app and its in-app tools sit under the Generative AI settings in the Workspace Admin console, and the student hub falls under those same existing controls, so turning the app off turns the hub off with it. There is no separate end user setting for the feature.
The expansion builds on a run of education-focused Gemini releases. Study notebooks, which the company describes as a space that turns Gemini into an interactive learning platform with lessons tailored to a user's goal, reached school and work accounts in September for users of all ages whose admins had enabled the Gemini app and Gemini Notebook. Notebooks themselves were announced in April as a separate space where a single user could keep projects and chats organized, before opening to students, educators and professionals.
The student hub also follows Google's move to ground Gemini output in material users already gathered. In late September the company added Gemini Notebook as a context source in Google Docs, so drafts can draw on a curated knowledge base without copying and pasting between tools. A separate announcement said skills, reusable prompts for guiding Gemini, would reach Workspace users in the coming weeks and eventually take over from Gems for tailoring instructions to specific tasks.
The announcement does not say whether Workspace customers in the European Economic Area will get access later; the availability list leaves them out while covering personal Google accounts everywhere. Google also gives no timeline for the additional learning tools it says will be added to the hub over time.
