Arc Raiders surpassed 12 million copies sold over the weekend, generating more than $350 million in revenue according to analyst estimates. The extraction shooter from Embark Studios set a new daily active user record of 3.2 million players on January 4.

Analyst Rhys Elliot from Alinea Analytics reported the milestone across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Steam accounts for 53.5% of total sales, with PlayStation 5 at 25.5% and Xbox at 21%. The $40 game launched October 30, 2025 and reached 4 million copies within its first two weeks.

January 4 marked the game's biggest day ever for daily active users, with 3.2 million players across all platforms. Daily sales had stabilized in early December before a 20% holiday discount reversed the trend, according to Elliot's analysis on Bluesky.

Arc Raiders has maintained strong player retention since its October launch. The game peaked at 466,372 concurrent players on Steam this week, just 3% below its all-time high of 481,966 players. This contrasts with competitor Battlefield 6, which saw sharp player count declines despite selling 7 million copies in its first three days.

Embark Studios, co-founded by former DICE executives including ex-CEO Patrick Söderlund, hasn't officially confirmed the 12 million sales figure. The company previously reported 4 million copies sold within two weeks of launch. Alinea Analytics previously estimated Arc Raiders had sold 2.5 million copies in November 2025, according to industry reports.

The extraction shooter's success comes despite controversy over its use of AI-generated voice lines. Embark boss Patrick Söderlund defended the technology, stating AI "can be a big help to developers and be a tremendous benefit to players." The controversy didn't impact sales momentum.

Arc Raiders was Google's most searched video game of 2025 and topped Steam's weekly sales charts through the holiday period. The game continues evolving with recent updates like the Cold Snap seasonal content and aggression-based matchmaking systems.

The $350 million revenue estimate assumes most sales occurred at the standard $40 price point, though holiday discounts brought the price down to $32. Embark's parent company Nexon now has one of its most successful global launches in company history.

Industry analysts note Arc Raiders' staying power in the competitive extraction shooter genre. The game has maintained over 250,000 concurrent players on Steam since launch, demonstrating sustained engagement beyond initial hype cycles.
