Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.3 on February 11, delivering security patches and bug fixes rather than new features. The update arrives two months after macOS 26.2 and carries build number 25D125.
According to Apple's release notes, macOS 26.3 focuses on bug fixes and security updates.
The maintenance release follows last week's rollout of the release candidate version to developers.
9to5Mac reports the update includes references to unreleased Apple Silicon chips, likely pointing to M5 Max and M5 Ultra processors for the next MacBook Pro refresh. TechRepublic adds that macOS 26.3 is optimized for the M5 chip series, with Apple Insider suggesting upcoming MacBook Pros will need at least version 26.3 to run.
Developer Jeff Johnson confirmed Safari version 26.3 fixed bugs that previously affected his ChangeTheHeaders extension.
"The good news is that in my testing, Safari version 26.3 appears to have fixed the bugs," Johnson wrote
He returned his extension to the App Store after temporarily removing it.
Howard Oakley noted Apple improved Accessibility's Reduced Transparency setting in the update. When enabled, visual issues resulting from Liquid Glass in System Settings' Search box now display correctly with opaque sidebar headers.
However, some interface problems persist. Mario Guzmán reported toolbars remain visually broken in full screen mode, while Steve Troughton-Smith noted "effectively zero progress" on critical UI-level framework bugs since macOS 26.1.
Apple simultaneously released macOS Sequoia 15.7.4 and Sonoma 14.8.4 for older Macs. These security-focused updates patch vulnerabilities across system components including file integrity, media handling, and Wi-Fi.
The company will begin testing macOS Tahoe 26.4 in the coming weeks, an update expected to be more feature-packed. macOS 26.4 could include new Siri functionality and emoji, according to PowerPage.
Users can install macOS 26.3 through System Settings > General > Software Update. Apple recommends 10-20GB of free storage for the update, or 30GB when upgrading from older versions.
