Taking a screenshot on your Galaxy Z Fold 6 is a bit different than on a regular phone, thanks to its two screens. Whether you're using the cover display or the expansive inner screen, you have several quick ways to capture what you see.

Use the Button Combo

The classic method works on both displays. Simply press the Side button and the Volume Down button together for a moment, then release. You'll see a quick animation and hear a shutter sound if your phone isn't muted. A small toolbar will pop up at the bottom of the screen for a few seconds.

I find this method is the most reliable when the phone is unfolded and I'm using two hands. It works exactly the same whether the phone is open or closed.

Enable and Use Palm Swipe

This gesture is perfect for the large inner display. First, you need to turn it on. Swipe into Settings, then go to Advanced features > Motions and gestures. Tap on Palm swipe to capture and toggle the switch on.

Now, to take a screenshot, just place the side of your hand vertically against the edge of the screen and swipe across. It should feel like you're brushing the screen with the side of your palm. This is great when you're holding the unfolded phone and don't want to fumble for buttons.

Add a Screenshot Quick Setting

Swipe down twice from the top of either screen to open your full Quick Settings panel. Look for the Screenshot tile. If you don't see it, tap the three-dot menu or pencil icon to edit your tiles, then drag the Screenshot option into your active panel.

Once it's there, a single tap will instantly capture whatever screen you're on. I'd start with this method if you take a lot of screenshots and want the most consistent one-tap option.

Capture Scrolling Content

This is one of the most useful features for the tall cover screen or long articles on the inner display. Take a normal screenshot first using any method. As soon as the preview toolbar appears at the bottom, tap the icon that looks like two downward arrows.

The phone will automatically scroll down and capture the next section, stitching it to the first image. You can keep tapping that button to capture a very long page, like an entire webpage or a conversation thread.

Use the Edge Panel for More Control

The Edge panel gives you access to more than just a full-screen capture. First, make sure it's enabled by going to Settings > Display > Edge panels and toggling it on. Swipe the thin tab in from the right edge of the screen to open it.

Navigate to the Smart select panel. Here, you can choose to capture a rectangle, an oval shape, or even create an animated GIF. This is ideal for when you only need to save a specific portion of the screen, like a single post in your social media feed.

Ask Bixby or Google Assistant

If your hands are full, just use your voice. Say "Hey Bixby, take a screenshot" or "Hey Google, take a screenshot." Either assistant will immediately capture the current screen and save it to your Gallery. This works regardless of which display is active or if the phone is folded.

Find and Manage Your Screenshots

All your screenshots are automatically saved. You can find them in the Samsung Gallery app. Open it and look for the Screenshots album. If you just took one, you can also tap the preview that appears for a moment after capturing to draw on it, crop it, or share it right away.

Remember that screenshots from the inner display will be much larger, square-like images, while those from the cover screen will be taller and narrower, reflecting the different aspect ratios.

Adjust Your Screenshot Settings

You can customize how screenshots behave. Go to Settings > Advanced features > Screenshots and screen recorder. Here, you can change the image format to save space, hide the toolbar immediately after capturing, or disable the shutter sound. If you use screen recordings often, you can set those options here too.

For the Z Fold 6, I recommend keeping the toolbar enabled for a few seconds. It gives you quick access to the scroll capture feature, which you'll likely use often on this device.
