Taking a screenshot on your iPhone SE 4 is a quick way to save what's on your screen, whether it's a map, a funny text, or a confirmation number. The process is intuitive, and you have a few different methods to choose from depending on what feels easiest for you.

Use the Button Combo

On your iPhone SE 4, the classic method uses the physical buttons. Press the Side button and the Volume Up button at the same time, then release them both immediately. You'll see a quick flash and hear a camera shutter sound if your ringer is on.

A small preview thumbnail will pop up in the bottom-left corner of the screen. You can tap it to jump right into editing, or just ignore it and the screenshot will save directly to your Photos app in the Screenshots album.

Use AssistiveTouch

If the button combo is tricky or you prefer a touch-based method, AssistiveTouch is a great alternative. First, you need to enable it by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > AssistiveTouch and toggling it on.

A small, movable button will appear on your screen. Tap it, then navigate to Device > More > Screenshot. You can also customize this menu to make a screenshot one of the primary actions for a faster workflow.

Use Back Tap

This is one of the handiest hidden features. Go to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap. You can then assign the screenshot action to either a Double Tap or a Triple Tap on the back of your phone.

Once it's set up, you can capture your screen just by tapping the back of your iPhone SE 4 a couple of times. It works reliably through most cases, and I find it's often the fastest method once you get the muscle memory down.

Ask Siri

When your hands are occupied, you can use your voice. Simply say, "Hey Siri, take a screenshot." Your iPhone SE 4 will capture whatever is currently displayed and save it to your Photos library automatically.

This works regardless of whether Siri is set to respond aloud or just show text on the screen, making it a versatile hands-free option.

Capture a Full-Page Screenshot

Web pages, long emails, and documents often don't fit on a single screen. To capture everything, first take a normal screenshot using any method. Then, tap the preview thumbnail that appears.

At the top of the editing screen that opens, you'll see two options: Screen and Full Page. Tap Full Page to capture the entire scrollable content. It saves as a PDF file, which you can then mark up, share, or store in the Files app.

Edit and Share Immediately

The preview thumbnail gives you a quick gateway to editing tools. Tap it to open a menu where you can crop, draw, add text, or use a highlighter on your screenshot. This is perfect for circling an important detail before sending it to someone.

From that same editing screen, tap the share icon to send the image directly via Messages, AirDrop, or any other app on your iPhone SE 4. If you skip the preview, all your screenshots are neatly organized in the Photos app under the Screenshots album for later access.

Adjust a Few Key Settings

The shutter sound for screenshots is tied to your ring switch. Flick the physical switch on the left side of your iPhone SE 4 to silent mode, and your screenshots will be taken quietly.

For full-page screenshots, you can choose a default save location. After capturing one, use the share sheet to select "Save to Files" and pick a folder. This can help keep long document captures separate from your regular photo library.
