Your Nothing Phone (2) battery is a consumable part, and its capacity naturally decreases with every charge cycle. Knowing its current health helps you understand your phone's performance and plan for the future. Here’s how to check it and keep it in good shape.

Check Battery Health in Nothing OS

Open your Settings app and navigate to Battery > Battery health. This screen shows your battery's current maximum capacity as a percentage of its original design capacity. A new phone will show 100%, and this number will gradually decline with use.

This menu also provides an estimate of your battery's remaining lifespan based on your charging habits. It’s the most straightforward and official way to get a health reading directly from your phone's system.

Review Detailed Battery Usage

To see what’s actually using your power, go to Settings > Battery > Battery usage. This breaks down consumption by app and system services since your last full charge. Tap on any app to see how much battery was used while the screen was on versus running in the background.

If you notice an app with unusually high background usage, it might be misbehaving. This is a great first step if your battery seems to be draining faster than it used to.

Monitor with AccuBattery

For more detailed, long-term tracking, I’d recommend installing AccuBattery from the Google Play Store. This app runs in the background and analyzes your charging habits to give you a very accurate estimate of your actual battery capacity.

After a few charge cycles, it will show you a health percentage. It also tracks metrics like charge speed, discharge rate per hour, and estimates how much wear each charging session causes, which is helpful for adjusting your habits.

Try the Hidden Testing Menu

Open your Phone dialer and enter *#*#4636#*#*. This should bring up a hidden testing menu. Select "Battery information" from the list. Here, you can find technical data like your battery's current voltage, temperature, and health status.

Be aware that the information here can be very technical and isn't presented as clearly as in the main Settings. It also may not work on all software versions, but it's a useful diagnostic tool if the code does function on your device.

Optimize Battery with Nothing OS Features

Head back to Settings > Battery and look for optimization features. Enabling options like Adaptive Battery allows your Phone (2) to learn your usage patterns and intelligently restrict power for apps you don't use often. This helps with daily longevity and reduces unnecessary battery wear over time.

Also, consider customizing your Glyph Interface patterns in Settings. While the LED lights are a signature feature, complex or constantly active patterns can contribute to drain. Setting them for priority notifications only can help.

Use Smart Charging Practices

To maximize your battery's lifespan, try to keep its charge between 20% and 80% for daily use. Constantly charging to 100% and draining to 0% accelerates degradation. If you charge overnight, using a slower wireless charger can be gentler than fast wired charging.

For the fastest wired top-up, use a compatible 45W or higher USB-PD charger. Avoid exposing your phone to extreme heat, especially while charging, as the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip can get warm during intensive tasks. Never charge it under a pillow or in direct sunlight.

Recognizing When a Replacement is Needed

If your Battery Health percentage drops significantly below 80%, you'll likely notice it won't last a full day anymore. Other clear signs include the phone shutting down unexpectedly with charge still showing, taking an exceptionally long time to charge, or if you notice any physical swelling of the battery or separation of the back panel.

At that point, you should contact Nothing support to inquire about a battery replacement service to restore your phone's endurance.
