When your Honor Magic 7 Pro won't charge wirelessly, it's often a simple alignment or accessory issue rather than a serious hardware fault. The phone's 80W wireless charging is powerful, but it requires specific conditions to work properly.

Center Your Phone on the Charger

Wireless charging needs the coils inside your phone and the charger to line up almost perfectly. Place your Magic 7 Pro dead center on the charging pad. You should see a charging animation or feel a haptic buzz. Being off by even a small amount can prevent the connection, especially with the high-power 80W charging.

Take Off Your Phone Case

This is a very common culprit. Thick cases, cases with metal plates for car mounts, or wallet cases with cards inside can block the charging signal. Remove the case completely and try charging again. If it works, you'll need a case specifically advertised as compatible with wireless charging.

Verify You're Using the Right Charger

The Magic 7 Pro's 80W wireless charging speed requires Honor's proprietary SuperCharge wireless charger. A standard Qi charger will still work, but it will charge at a much slower rate, typically 15W or less. Make sure the charger is plugged into a compatible high-wattage wall adapter, not a low-power USB port on a computer or older plug.

Restart Your Phone

A quick reboot can clear up temporary software glitches that interfere with charging. Press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until the phone restarts. Once it's back on, place it on the charger again. I'd start with this one if the charger light is on but the phone isn't responding.

Check for Overheating

The Magic 7 Pro's silicon-carbon battery is durable, but both wired and wireless fast charging generate heat. If the phone gets too hot, it will automatically pause charging to protect the battery. This can happen if you're using the phone while it's on the pad or if the room is very warm. Let everything cool down for 15 minutes before trying again.

Clean the Phone and Charger

Dust, lint, or pocket debris on the back of your phone or the surface of the charging pad can create a tiny gap that breaks the connection. Wipe both surfaces with a dry, soft cloth. A clean connection is critical for efficient power transfer.

Update MagicOS

Go to Settings > System & updates > Software update and tap 'Check for updates'. Honor releases updates that can fix bugs, including ones related to power management and charging. Keeping your phone on the latest version of Android 15 and MagicOS 9.0 is a good habit.

Reset Your Network Settings

This might seem unrelated, but on Android phones, resetting network settings can sometimes resolve underlying connectivity issues that affect hardware communication, including with chargers. Go to Settings > System & updates > Reset > Reset network settings. You'll need to re-enter Wi-Fi passwords and re-pair Bluetooth devices afterward.

Test with a Different Wireless Charger

If you have access to another wireless charger, even a standard Qi pad, give it a try. If your Magic 7 Pro charges on a different pad, then the original charger is likely faulty. If it won't charge on any wireless charger, the issue is probably with the phone's internal hardware or charging coil.
