Your Galaxy Buds FE case is blinking and won't connect. You've tried tapping the connection prompt on your phone, but nothing happens. The case light keeps cycling, the buds stay silent, and you're stuck staring at a pairing screen that refuses to finish.
The fastest way out is to make sure your phone is unlocked, Bluetooth is on, and you're using the right app for your device. Galaxy Buds FE don't use a universal Bluetooth handshake like some other earbuds. They rely on the Galaxy Wearable app (or Galaxy Buds app for iOS) to complete the pairing. If that app isn't ready, the handshake stalls.
Open your phone, unlock it, and pull down the quick settings to confirm Bluetooth is toggled on. Keep the case open within a few feet of the phone. On a Samsung device, a pop-up usually appears automatically. On a non-Samsung Android phone, you'll need to open the Galaxy Wearable app manually. On iPhone, open the Galaxy Buds app. If nothing happens after 10 seconds, move on to the next step.
Install or Update the Pairing App
Galaxy Buds FE require the Galaxy Wearable app for full pairing and feature control. Without it, the buds may never complete the Bluetooth handshake. On a Samsung phone running Android 6.0 or later, the app is built in. On other Android phones (Android 9.0 or later), download it from the Galaxy Store or Play Store. For iPhone users, grab the Galaxy Buds app from the App Store.
Make sure the app is updated to the latest version. An outdated app can silently block the connection. Open the app's page in your store and tap Update if available. Once updated, close the app completely, reopen it, and follow the on-screen pairing instructions.
Force-Restart Your Phone
If Bluetooth is on and the app is ready but pairing still fails, a quick phone restart clears temporary glitches. On most Android phones, hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together for about 15 seconds until the screen turns off and the Samsung logo appears. Let go and wait for the phone to reboot.
For iPhones, the force-restart sequence is Volume Up, Volume Down, then hold the Side button until the Apple logo shows. After the restart, try pairing again with the app open.
Forget the Buds From Bluetooth First
If you've previously paired these buds to your phone, a leftover Bluetooth record can prevent a fresh connection. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings, find the Galaxy Buds FE entry, and tap Forget or Unpair. Confirming removes the saved pairing data.
Now start fresh: open the Galaxy Wearable (or Galaxy Buds) app. The app should detect the buds in pairing mode and prompt you to connect. If it still doesn't find them, close the case lid for 30 seconds, open it again, and try once more.
Reset the Buds Through the App
When forgetting and re-pairing fails, a full reset is the next step. Put both Galaxy Buds FE in the case and leave the lid open. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone. Navigate to About earbuds (or the info section) and tap Reset. Confirm the action.
The reset clears all internal pairing data and returns the buds to a factory-fresh state. After the reset, the case will re-enter pairing mode automatically. The app should now detect them as new devices. If you're using an iPhone, the reset option is in the Galaxy Buds app under a similar path.
Check That No Other Device Is Interfering
The buds might be trying to connect to a different phone or tablet nearby, especially if you've previously paired them with another device. Turn off Bluetooth on any other phones, tablets, or laptops in the room. Then close the case lid, wait 10 seconds, and reopen it near your target phone. This forces the buds to look only for the closest active Bluetooth source.
If you've used the buds with a Samsung tablet or a second phone recently, the conflict is common. Disconnecting from the other device through its Bluetooth settings also helps.
Test With Another Phone
To rule out a phone-specific issue, try pairing the Galaxy Buds FE with a different device. If you have access to another Android phone or an iPhone, open the pairing app on that device and attempt to connect. If the buds pair successfully there, the problem is with your original phone's Bluetooth stack or app configuration.
If they won't pair with any phone at all, the buds themselves may need service. Contact Samsung support or visit a repair center.
Try Pairing With One Bud
A stuck stereo handshake can sometimes be broken by pairing one bud at a time. Take one Galaxy Bud FE out of the case and leave the other inside with the lid open. Bring the single bud close to your phone and open the app. If the app finds the single bud, pair it. Then drop it back into the case, take out the second bud, and repeat the process. Once both buds are paired individually, the case will recognize them as a pair.
Charge the Case and Buds
Low battery levels can interfere with the Bluetooth pairing handshake. The Galaxy Buds FE case charges only via USB-C (no wireless charging). Plug the case into a 5W USB-C charger and let it charge for at least 15 minutes. Both buds should be inside the case while charging. After 15 minutes, open the case near your phone and try the pairing process again.
