Using a thick paintbrush bristle, CAREFULLY insert it about 3mm into the microphone holes; On HTC ONE hole is on the bottom next to the micro-usb connector, other on the back near the top-right corner. After that you may also use canned air duster to try to remove debris, but WARNING! DO NOT get the canned air duster tube near the holes; leave at least 5mm (1/4 inch) between the canned air duster tube and mic holes.
