You'll want to reset your Beats Studio Pro if you're selling them, gifting them, or dealing with connection issues that won't clear with a normal power cycle. The reset takes about 15 seconds and wipes all paired devices from the headphones. After the reset, they'll power on automatically and enter pairing mode, so be ready to re-pair to your phone right after.
The reset uses the system button (the power button on the right earcup). It's the same button you use to turn the headphones on and off. Make sure the headphones have some battery left before you start, at least 10% to complete the reset sequence.
Close the Beats App and Disconnect
Before the reset, close the Beats app on your Android or open Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone and tap Forget This Device next to the Beats Studio Pro. This step isn't required for the reset to work, but it makes the re-pair cleaner. If you skip it, your phone might try to reconnect to the old pairing during the reset, which can confuse the process.
On iOS, also remove them from Find My before resetting. Open Find My, tap the Devices tab, select your Beats Studio Pro, and tap Remove This Device. Find My lock on Beats Studio Pro only works on iOS, if you're on Android, there's no Find My to worry about.
Run the 10-Second Button Reset
Press and hold the system button (the power button on the right earcup) for a full 10 seconds. Don't let go early, even if you see the Fuel Gauge LEDs light up. The sequence goes like this: the LEDs flash white, then one LED flashes red in a repeating pattern three times, then the lights stop. At that point the headphones have reset and will turn on automatically.
If you release the button too soon, the headphones might just power off or toggle ANC mode. Keep holding until the entire LED dance finishes. The whole reset takes about 10 seconds of holding, then another few seconds for the lights to settle.
After the reset, the Beats Studio Pro power on and go directly into pairing mode. You'll see the Fuel Gauge LEDs flashing white, which means they're ready to connect to a new device.
Confirm the Headphones Are Reset
Open your phone's Bluetooth settings. The Beats Studio Pro should no longer appear in your list of paired devices. On iOS, check Settings > Bluetooth, they should be gone. On Android, check the same in Settings > Connected devices. If they still show as Connected or if your music still streams through them, the reset didn't take. Run the button hold again, making sure you hold for the full 10 seconds and see the LED sequence.
If the headphones don't power on after the reset, plug them into a charger via USB-C for a couple minutes. A depleted battery can interrupt the reset process. Use any standard USB-C cable and charger, 5W is plenty. The Beats Studio Pro don't support fast charging beyond the standard rate.
Re-Pair the Beats Studio Pro
On iOS, bring the headphones within a few feet of your unlocked iPhone. A setup card should appear on the screen. Tap Connect and follow the prompts, your Beats Studio Pro will sync across all devices signed into your iCloud account.
On Android, open the Beats app. The app should detect the headphones in pairing mode and prompt you to connect. If it doesn't, try pairing manually through Settings > Bluetooth by selecting "Beats Studio Pro" from the available devices list. The Beats app is important for Android users because it handles firmware updates, EQ presets, and full feature parity. Without the app, you'll miss out on features like personalized EQ and firmware updates.
If the headphones don't show up in the Bluetooth list, hold the system button for about 2 seconds to put them back into pairing mode manually. You'll see the Fuel Gauge LEDs flash white, confirming they're discoverable.
Re-Configure Your Settings After Reset
After re-pairing, go through your personalization options. Press the 'b' button on the left earcup to toggle between ANC and Transparency Mode, the default after a reset is ANC on. If you had Spatial Audio enabled before, it might sound hollow on stereo tracks; you can disable it in the Beats app or in iOS settings under Notifications & Sounds (on iPhone) or within the Beats app EQ section. Some users find Spatial Audio on stereo recordings sounds thin, so try turning it off if music doesn't sound right.
Lossless USB-C audio requires the Beats app version 1.6 or later. If you plug in via USB-C and don't hear a difference, open the Beats app and check for updates. The headphones support lossless audio over the USB-C connection, but only with the right app version.
Auto-pause (play/pause when you take the headphones off) is unreliable on Android. If your music keeps stopping unexpectedly, go into the Beats app settings and disable ear detection. The accelerometer in the Beats Studio Pro handles this feature, and it works better on iOS than on Android.
Watch for Charging Port Debris
The USB-C charging port on the Beats Studio Pro is prone to collecting lint and debris, especially after exposure to sweat. If you had trouble charging before the reset, clean the port gently with a dry toothpick or a plastic SIM eject tool. Don't use a metal pin, you can short the contacts. Debris in the port can also cause connection issues during a firmware update, so it's worth checking before you reset.
If the headphones still won't connect or charge after a reset and cleaning, try a different USB-C cable and charger. Some third-party cables don't deliver enough power to wake a deeply discharged battery.
