If your Vivo X200 Pro has gone silent and stopped vibrating for calls or notifications, it's a surprisingly common hiccup. The good news is that it's almost always a software setting or a minor glitch you can fix yourself in a few minutes.
Start With a Force Restart
Before you dive into settings, try a force restart. This clears out any temporary software bugs that might be telling the vibration motor not to work. On the X200 Pro, press and hold the Power button for about 12 seconds, or until you see the Vivo logo appear and the phone restarts.
It's a simple step, but I've seen it resolve more vibration issues than you'd think. It's a quick refresh for your phone's system.
Check Your Sound and Vibration Profile
Funtouch OS has different sound profiles that control vibration. Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to open the full Quick Settings panel. Look for the sound mode icon, it might say "Sound," "Vibrate," or "Silent."
Make sure it's set to either "Sound" or "Vibrate." If it's on "Silent," your phone won't vibrate at all. Just tap the icon to cycle through the modes until you get the one you want.
Verify the Main Vibration Switch
Sometimes the main toggle gets turned off. Open your Settings app and go to Sound & vibration. Right at the top, you should see an option for "Vibrate on ring."
Make sure this slider is switched on. If it's already on, try turning it off and back on again. This ensures the system is properly registering your preference.
Adjust the Vibration Strength
The X200 Pro lets you control how strong the vibrations are. If they're set too low, you might not feel them. In Settings > Sound & vibration, look for "Vibration intensity" or a similar option.
Tap on it, and you'll find sliders for call vibration, notification vibration, and touch feedback. Crank these up to a higher level and test if you can feel the difference.
Look at App-Specific Notification Settings
If your phone vibrates for some apps but not others, the problem is with that app's notifications. Go to Settings > Apps > [App Name] > Notifications.
Here, make sure notifications are enabled for that app. Then, look for the specific notification category (like "Incoming calls" or "New messages") and ensure the "Vibrate" option is checked within it. Messaging apps like WhatsApp or Telegram have their own deep vibration settings.
Test in Safe Mode
This is a great way to figure out if a recently downloaded app is causing the trouble. Safe Mode temporarily disables all third-party apps. To enter it, press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears.
Then, tap and hold the "Power off" option on your screen. A prompt will ask if you want to reboot into Safe Mode. Tap "OK." If your vibrations work perfectly in Safe Mode, you'll need to uninstall apps one by one to find the culprit.
To exit Safe Mode, just restart your phone normally.
Update Funtouch OS
An outdated system can have bugs that affect hardware functions like the vibration motor. Vivo does release patches, though their update commitment can be more limited than some brands. It's still worth checking.
Go to Settings > System management > Software update. Tap "Download and install" if an update is available. Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has a good charge, preferably using the included 90W charger, before you start.
Check for Interference from Themes or Always-On Display
Customizations can sometimes conflict. If you're using a third-party theme from the iTheme store, try switching back to the default theme temporarily. Also, check your Always-On Display settings under Settings > Display & brightness.
Some AOD modes or schedules might inadvertently affect notification behavior. Disable it briefly to see if your vibration returns.
Reset App Preferences or Network Settings
This is a lighter reset that won't delete your personal data. It resets permissions and notification settings for all apps. Go to Settings > System management > Reset.
Tap "Reset app preferences." Confirm the action. After your phone reboots, you'll need to re-allow notifications for your apps, but this often clears up strange conflicts causing the vibration to fail.
