When your Vivo X200 Pro's hotspot stops working, it leaves your laptop or tablet stranded without internet. Whether other devices can't find the network, fail to connect, or get stuck obtaining an IP address, the fixes are usually straightforward.

Start by opening the Settings app and tapping Personal Hotspot. Turn the toggle off, wait a solid 10 seconds, and then turn it back on. This quick reset of the hotspot service clears out minor software glitches and is often all you need.

Restart Your Vivo X200 Pro

If toggling didn't help, a full restart is the next logical step. Press and hold the Power button for about 12 seconds until you feel the phone vibrate and see the Vivo logo appear. This force restart is more thorough than a standard reboot and can resolve deeper system processes that might be interfering with the hotspot.

Verify Your Mobile Data Connection

Your hotspot is completely dependent on your phone's cellular data. Pull down the notification shade and make sure mobile data is enabled. Try loading a webpage to confirm you have an active internet connection. The X200 Pro's hotspot won't function if your phone itself has no data, even if the signal bars look good.

It's also worth checking your specific data plan with your carrier. Some budget or older plans don't include tethering permissions, or you may have accidentally used up a dedicated hotspot data allowance.

Check the Connected Device List

Within the Personal Hotspot settings on your X200 Pro, look for a section like "Connected Devices" or "Device Management." If the device you're trying to connect is listed but stuck, you can sometimes tap on it and select "Disconnect" to force a fresh connection attempt from the other device's side.

Forget the Network on the Connecting Device

The problem might be with the laptop, tablet, or other phone trying to connect. On that device, go into its Wi-Fi settings, find your Vivo's hotspot network name (SSID), and choose "Forget" or "Remove Network." Then, scan for Wi-Fi networks again, select your hotspot, and carefully re-enter the password.

Change Your Hotspot Name and Password

Go back to Settings > Personal Hotspot on your X200 Pro. Tap on "Hotspot Name (SSID)" and change it to something simple and unique. Next, tap on "Password" and set a new one that's at least 8 characters. This forces a completely new network identity, which can bypass authentication conflicts.

Reset Your Phone's Network Settings

This is a more comprehensive fix for persistent issues. Navigate to Settings > System Management > Backup and Reset > Reset Network Settings. Tap to confirm. This will erase all saved Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth pairings, and cellular network preferences, returning them to default. You'll need to reconnect to your home Wi-Fi afterward, but it often resolves stubborn hotspot bugs in Funtouch OS.

Try USB Tethering Instead

If Wi-Fi hotspot is being problematic, a direct wired connection is a great workaround. Grab the USB-C cable that came with your 90W charger and connect your X200 Pro to your computer. On your phone, a prompt should appear asking what you want to use the USB connection for, select "USB Tethering" or "Transfer files." Your computer should then recognize it as a network adapter.

Update Your Vivo X200 Pro Software

Software bugs can affect hotspot functionality. Go to Settings > System Management > Software Update and tap "Check for updates." If an update for Funtouch OS 15 is available, download and install it. Manufacturers frequently patch connectivity issues in these updates, and keeping your 2024 device current is key for stability.

Check for Carrier-Specific Settings

While less common on unlocked global models, some carrier-sold versions of the X200 Pro might have specific Access Point Name (APN) settings for tethering. You can check this in Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Access Point Names. If you see multiple APNs, your carrier's support site can tell you if one is specifically configured for hotspot use.
