Visible runs on Verizon's network. That sounds simple, and on a modern iPhone it usually is, but Android phones and older devices often need a manual APN entry before data or MMS will work properly.

Visible used Verizon's standard vzwinternet APN for years. Many devices still take that and run with it. Visible has since published an alternative APN value (VSBLINTERNET) that resolves stubborn data problems on a subset of phones, so you have two options if the first one does not stick.

Here is the verified configuration for both, plus what to do on iPhones where Verizon's lock often hides the APN editor entirely.

Visible APN Quick Facts

  • Visible is owned by Verizon and uses Verizon's full network footprint, including 4G LTE and 5G. There is no separate 5G APN.
  • Visible publishes two valid Android APN values: VSBLINTERNET (Visible-specific, often listed as the official current value) and vzwinternet (inherited from Verizon, works on many Visible SIMs because Visible runs on Verizon's network). Either can register first depending on your phone and SIM batch; if the first one you try does not bring data up after a reboot, swap to the other.
  • iPhones on Verizon (and by extension Visible) almost always auto-configure through a carrier settings push. The APN editor is intentionally locked or hidden on most iPhones.
  • If you cannot edit the APN on iPhone, you are not missing a setting. The correct fix is a carrier settings update and Reset Network Settings, not manual entry.

Where to Enter the APN

The path varies by device, but the navigation tree is consistent across recent Android versions and iOS.

Android

  1. 1.Settings
  2. 2.Network & Internet (or Connections on Samsung)
  3. 3.Mobile Networks (or SIMs, then your Visible SIM)
  4. 4.Access Point Names
  5. 5.Tap the three-dot menu, then New APN (or edit the existing Verizon entry)
  6. 6.Enter the values from the Android list below
  7. 7.Tap Save, then select the new APN to make it active
  8. 8.Restart the phone, or toggle Airplane Mode for 20 seconds to apply

iPhone and iPad

  1. 1.Settings
  2. 2.Cellular or Mobile Data
  3. 3.Cellular Data Network (only appears on a small subset of Verizon-provisioned iPhones)
  4. 4.If the menu is missing, that is normal for Verizon and Visible. Skip ahead to the "iPhone APN Editor Locked on Verizon" section below.

Android APN Values

Use the primary set first. If data does not work after rebooting, replace the APN value with the alternative.

  • Name: Visible
  • APN: vzwinternet (primary), or VSBLINTERNET if the primary fails
  • Proxy: <Not set>
  • Port: <Not set>
  • Username: <Not set>
  • Password: <Not set>
  • Server: <Not set>
  • MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms
  • MMS proxy: <Not set>
  • MMS port: 80
  • MCC: 311

iPhone APN Values

If your iPhone shows the Cellular Data Network screen, enter:

  • Cellular Data / Mobile Data (APN): vzwinternet
  • Username: <Not set>
  • Password: <Not set>
  • MMS:
    • APN: vzwinternet
    • MMSC: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

iPhone APN Editor Locked on Verizon

Verizon (and Visible by extension) hides or grays out the APN editor on most iPhones. This is intentional. The iPhone receives a carrier configuration profile that fills in the right values automatically, and the editor is locked to prevent users from breaking it.

If your iPhone shows no Cellular Data Network option, or the fields are grayed out, do this instead:

  1. 1.Open Settings > General > About. Wait 15 seconds. If a Carrier Settings Update prompt appears, accept it and reboot.
  2. 2.If no prompt appears and data still does not work, run Reset Network Settings at Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Enter your passcode and confirm.
  3. 3.After the phone reboots, rejoin Wi-Fi and let cellular re-provision automatically. The carrier profile reinstalls and APN values populate behind the scenes.
  4. 4.Check that Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data is on and your Visible line is the default for cellular data.

Manual APN entry is rarely required on iPhone for Visible. The carrier settings push handles it. If data still does not work after the above, contact Visible support; the issue is usually account-level, not APN-level.

Common Visible APN Issues

  • After saving an Android APN, toggle Airplane Mode for 20 seconds or reboot. Some phones need this to commit the new APN as the active entry.
  • If vzwinternet connects but feels slow or drops MMS, switch the APN value to VSBLINTERNET and reboot again. Save the alternative as a separate APN rather than editing the first one, so you can toggle between them.
  • Check that the phone is unlocked. Locked iPhones or Android phones from another carrier may refuse the Verizon profile or display the APN editor as read-only.
  • Confirm your phone supports Verizon's network bands, especially mid-band 5G (n77, n66) and the C-band (n77 at 3.7 GHz). Older or international-only devices sometimes miss the bands that drive the best Visible coverage.
  • If MMS works but data does not, the APN type string is the most common culprit. Save it as default, supl, mms exactly, no spaces between the items.
  • After major iOS updates, recheck. Apple's update process occasionally drops a carrier profile and the device needs Reset Network Settings to pull a fresh one.
  • If the issue began right after porting a number to Visible, give it 24 hours. The port can leave cellular in a half-provisioned state until Visible finishes the back-end work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Visible the same as Verizon on the back end?

Yes. Visible is a Verizon brand and uses Verizon's full network and full set of bands, including the 5G mid-band and C-band that drive Verizon's faster speeds. Coverage is identical to Verizon postpaid in nearly all markets.

Why does Visible have two different APN values?

The vzwinternet APN is Verizon's standard value and works on most modern devices. VSBLINTERNET is Visible's specialized alternative and resolves issues on a subset of phones where the Verizon profile and Visible's billing routing do not align cleanly. Try the standard one first; only swap if it fails.

Do I need a different APN for 5G on Visible?

No. The same APN handles 4G LTE, 5G non-standalone, and 5G standalone traffic. To pull 5G when available, make sure 5G is enabled in your phone's network mode settings.

My iPhone won't let me see or edit the APN. Is something broken?

No. Verizon intentionally locks the APN editor on iPhones because the device receives the right values through a carrier profile. If you cannot connect, the fix is a carrier settings update or Reset Network Settings, not manual APN entry.

Can I use a Visible SIM in a hotspot or tablet that does not have a carrier profile?

Often yes, but you may need to enter the Android APN values manually using the Visible/Verizon settings above. Hotspots and tablets that lack a Verizon-aware carrier profile especially benefit from the VSBLINTERNET alternative if vzwinternet stalls.

Will these APN settings affect my Party Pay or Visible+ plan benefits?

No. APN settings control how your phone connects to the network. They do not interact with plan pricing, Party Pay discounts, or Visible+ premium features. Those are all account-level configurations on Visible's side.

Why is my MMS limit listed as 1048576 on iPhone?

That number is the MMS attachment size cap in bytes, which works out to exactly 1 MB. It is a standard MMS limit across Verizon-network carriers including Visible. Large files should go through iMessage over Wi-Fi instead.
