Every Android phone comes with some pre-installed apps known as bloatware. You may never use many of these because not all of them are useful. These apps are taking the space on your device. In addition, they can run in the background which will affect the battery life.

When it comes to it, you have two options to remove bloatware. You can uninstall it or disable it. Head to Settings > Apps (on some devices it is Application Manager). Look for the app you wish to disable. Tap on it and tap disable. If Uninstall option is available, tap on that.

Now that you are done with bloatware, go through your apps. Is there something you don’t use any longer? If the answer is yes, it is the time to remove such apps. They just wasting the space on your device and slowing it down.

So, head to Settings > Apps, tap on the app you wish to remove, and tap Uninstall. Another way to do delete apps on Android is to tap and hold the app’s icon on the Home screen and just drag it towards the top of the screen. A trash can will appear and you’ll be asked if you want to uninstall the app. Tap OK.

When you remove unnecessary apps, it is the time to update the ones you are using daily. We already talked about the importance of app updates, so all you need to do now is open Google Play Store, head to My apps & games and tap Update all.

When you open an app on your device, data is automatically stored in the phone’s memory, so the next time you launch the app it will be easier for your device to access it. However, after some period of time, it will get the valuable space on your device. In addition to this, cached data may get corrupted. It is why you should clear it regularly. It is a simple process that takes just a few seconds of your time.

To clear cached data, navigate to Settings > Storage, and then tap Cached data. You will be asked if you want to clear it. Tap OK.

 

Boost Android’s performance by updating OS

Same as app updates are important, getting the latest version of the operating system can really change the game. If you have never done this before, expect many new features, security improvements and bug fixes.

Many people completely ignore this, thinking it will make their phones slower. However, it is not the case. If you are experiencing some issues on your phone such as occasional freezing or lag, there is a good chance it will be all fixed once you get the latest version of the OS.

Before you start with Android update, make sure to backup all your data. Also, charge your device. Make sure you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, not mobile data.

When this is done, go to Settings, scroll down and tap About phone (About tablet, About device,.).
