Samsung has successfully started its upper mid-range smartphone campaign and after Galaxy E5, comes an even powerful phone from Samsung’s collection – the Galaxy E7. A powerful combination of rich display with excellent camera, it is sure to raise some brows with its specifications. Though the phone is a bit overpriced as compared to India-based rival handsets, the phone succeeds in providing lag-free performance and delivers stunning pictures with its camera. Let’s have a look what this Samsung “performer” has to offer.

Features and Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy E7 comes with a 5.5” Super AMOLED capacitive multi-touch screen offering 720 x 1280 pixels resolution similarly like Galaxy E5. The phone comes is powered by Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with an assured update to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop – a must at this price range. The handset runs on a 1.2 GHz Quad Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU which enables the phone to provide excellent performance along with rich video and gaming experience. The memory aspect of the Galaxy E7 revolves around a 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM expandable up to 64GB with a microSD card through external storage. The phone features hybrid dual SIM option thus allowing the use of either two NANO SIMs simultaneously or a single NANO SIM and a memory card together. The Samsung Galaxy E7 sports a 13MP primary camera delivering amazing pictures even in low-light due to the presence of LED flash. The phone also has a secondary 5MP camera to take amazing selfies and make high quality video calls. The primary benchmark in terms of camera is that both the cameras have the ability to record 1080p HD videos. The non-removable 2950 mAh battery provides interruption-free entertainment without worrying of running out of juice for more than a day. Other features of the handset include microUSB 2.0, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, WLAN, FM radio with RDS, A-GPS, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, etc.

Design and Quality

The Galaxy E7 is has an excellent build quality with sleek dimensions of 5.96 x 3.04 x 0.29 attracting your attention with its 5.5” super AMOLED HD display but weighs only 141g thus making it very light to carry around . The phone flaunts round edges maintaining the Galaxy Series tradition with a central oval shaped home button. Ports include a 3.5mm earphone port and a microUSB 2.0 port with the power and volume buttons designed ergonomically. The NANO SIM slots are present below the power button with one slot acting as a hybrid slot, i.e, the SIM slot can also be used as a microSD card slot. A major drawback of the phone in terms of design or display is the absence of Corning Gorilla Glass which most major smartphone manufacturers provide at this price range which is a must at this price range. The phone comes in four soothing colors – Black, White, Blue and Brown.

OS and Tech

The phone is supported by Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with assured future update to 5.0.2 Lollipop allowing the hardware to provide seamless performance. The phone features an Accelerometer, an Ambient light sensor and a Proximity sensor. Like the Samsung Galaxy E5, the Galaxy E7 also uses GLONASS and A-GPS technologies for navigation. The handset is designed with Hybrid dual SIM technology, as stated above, allowing connectivity through the use of NANO SIMs. Internet connectivity options include GPRS and EDGE with high speed 3G internet service. Camera and Multimedia

Samsung has ever since been a trend setter in terms of camera and the Galaxy E7 is no exception to it. The phone flaunts an exceptional 13MP primary camera which captures photos at a whopping 4128 x 3096 pixels resolution offering more detailing than the Galaxy E5. The presence of LED flash allows capturing great pictures even in low-light environment as well as in light-rich environments. The 5MP secondary camera captures beautiful rich selfies and simultaneously enable video calling feature. Both the cameras of the Galaxy E7 enables the user to take HD videos at 1080p @ 30fps which makes the phone inevitably a must buy. Other camera features include geo-tagging, panorama and face detection. The Samsung Galaxy E5 supports major audio and video formats with high-end entertainment. Battery and Memory

The Samsung Galaxy E7 is rigged with a massive 2950 mAh non-removable battery to provide optimum mobile usage without interruption. Enjoy quality entertainment without running out of life juice.  Like stated in case of Galaxy E5, if the phone would have featured a removable battery, it would have been bit easier for amateur smartphone users to reset their phone in cases of software delinquency. The phone is powered by a powerful 2GB RAM which enables the execution of heavy applications. Save innumerous photos, songs and videos inside your phone’s massive 16GB internal memory install several applications directly into your phone’s external memory which can be expandable up to 64GB. But a major setback will be if you are an active dual SIM user which won’t allow you using microSD card for memory the slot being a hybrid SIM and memory slot.
