Missing calls on your POCO X7 Pro can be incredibly annoying, especially when you're expecting something important. You might see the notification pop up later, but the phone never made a sound. This usually comes down to a setting that got changed or a small software hiccup.

I'd start by checking the most obvious things first. The quickest fix is often just turning the volume all the way up using the physical buttons on the side of the phone. Make sure you're not in a Focus mode or that your ringtone hasn't been accidentally set to "None".

Check Your Volume and Silent Mode

First, unlock your POCO X7 Pro. While the screen is on, press the volume up button on the side several times. You should see a volume slider appear on the screen. Ensure it's set to maximum. The ringer volume is separate from media volume, so you need to adjust it while not playing music or a video.

Also, check that you haven't enabled Silent Mode. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Quick Settings panel. Look for a bell icon with a slash through it. If you see it, tap it to turn Silent Mode off. Your phone should now ring for calls and notifications.

Review Your Focus Modes

HyperOS 2 includes Focus modes, which are similar to Do Not Disturb. If a mode like Work, Sleep, or Personal is active, it can silence all calls except from your favorites. You can check this quickly in your Quick Settings panel.

Swipe down twice from the top to see the full Quick Settings tiles. Look for a tile labeled "Focus". Tap it to see which mode is active and turn it off. For more control, go into Settings > Sound & vibration > Focus modes. Here, you can review all modes and ensure none are scheduled to turn on automatically.

Verify Your Ringtone Settings

Sometimes the selected ringtone file can become corrupted or be set to a silent tone. It's easy to fix. Head to Settings > Sound & vibration > Phone ringtone.

Scroll through the list and select a different, clearly audible ringtone. Tap "OK" to confirm. Have a friend call you immediately to test if the new sound plays. This also resets the ringtone connection, which can clear up minor glitches.

Disconnect Bluetooth Accessories

If your POCO X7 Pro is connected to a Bluetooth speaker, headphones, or your car, incoming call audio might be routed there instead of the phone's speaker. Even if the accessory is off or out of range, the phone might still try to send the sound there.

Swipe down to open Quick Settings and tap the Bluetooth icon to turn it off completely. Alternatively, go to Settings > Connected devices > Connection preferences > Bluetooth and toggle the main switch off. Try a test call with Bluetooth disabled to see if the ring returns.

Check App-Specific Notification Permissions

The Phone app needs explicit permission to make sound. This can sometimes be revoked after an update. Open Settings > Apps > Manage apps and find "Phone" in the list. Tap on it, then select "Notifications".

Ensure that "Incoming calls" notifications are turned on. Also, check that the "Sound" option is enabled for this category. While you're here, it's a good idea to verify the same settings for any other calling apps you use, like WhatsApp or Telegram.

Look for Blocked Numbers

If calls from a specific person aren't ringing, you may have accidentally blocked them. Open the Phone app and tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Select "Settings" and then "Blocked numbers".

Review the list. If you find the number there, tap the "X" next to it to unblock. Remember, blocked calls go straight to voicemail without ever ringing your phone, so it will seem like the phone never notified you.

Disable Call Forwarding

Call forwarding is a carrier feature that sends your calls to another number. If it's active, your POCO X7 Pro won't ring. To check, open the Phone app and dial # # 002 # # and then tap the call button.

This USSD code usually disables all call forwarding on most networks. You should see a confirmation message from your carrier. You can also check forwarding settings within the Phone app's settings menu under "Call forwarding".

Ensure "Do Not Disturb" is Off

This is separate from Focus modes. The classic Do Not Disturb function silences everything. Pull down the notification shade and look for a crescent moon icon. If it's highlighted, tap it to turn DND off.

For more detailed settings, go to Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb. Make sure the main toggle is off. Also, review any schedules or "Automatic rules" that might be turning it on at certain times or in specific locations.

Restart Your POCO X7 Pro

A simple reboot clears the phone's temporary memory and stops any background processes that might be interfering with the ringer. Press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then tap "Restart".

If the screen is unresponsive, you can force a restart. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds or until you feel the phone vibrate and see the POCO logo appear. This is a soft reset that doesn't delete any data.

Update HyperOS and Your Apps

Software bugs can cause notification and sound issues. Manufacturers release updates to patch these problems. Connect to Wi-Fi and go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version. Tap "Check for updates".

If an update is available, download and install it. The large 6000mAh battery in the X7 Pro means you can do this without worrying about running out of power mid-update. Also, open the Google Play Store and update all your apps, especially your phone and contacts apps.

Reset App Preferences

This is a safer alternative to a full reset. It reverts all your app notifications, permissions, and default apps back to their original settings without touching your personal files. Go to Settings > Apps > Reset app preferences.

Tap "Reset apps" on the confirmation screen. Afterward, you'll need to re-grant permissions like microphone and notifications to your apps when you use them next. This often resolves conflicts that stop the Phone app from ringing.

Check for SIM Card Issues

A poorly seated or faulty SIM card can cause call problems. Power off your phone completely. Use the SIM ejector tool that came in the box to open the tray on the side of the phone.

Remove the SIM card, gently wipe the gold contacts with a soft, dry cloth, and reinsert it firmly. Power the phone back on. Once it boots, make a test call to see if the issue is resolved.

Perform a Network Settings Reset

This clears all your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network configurations. It's useful if the problem seems related to your carrier connection. Go to Settings > Connection & sharing > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile networks & Bluetooth.

Tap "Reset settings" and confirm. You'll need to reconnect to your Wi-Fi networks and re-pair Bluetooth devices afterward, but it can fix deeper network-related glitches affecting calls.

Consider a Software Reset

If you've tried everything else and your POCO X7 Pro still won't ring, a factory reset is the final step. This will erase all data, so you must back up everything important first. Use Xiaomi's cloud backup or copy files to a computer.

Once backed up, go to Settings > About phone > Factory reset. Tap "Erase all data" and follow the prompts. After the phone restores itself, set it up as new initially to test if the ringing works before restoring your backup.
