Motorola's flagship flip phone appears set for a minimal refresh this year, with leaked specifications showing the Razr 70 Ultra will carry over nearly every component from its predecessor.
The upcoming foldable, known as the Razr Ultra 2026 in the United States, reportedly retains the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that powered last year's model according to Android Headlines. This decision comes despite Motorola's newer Razr Fold book-style device already shipping with Qualcomm's more recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
Beyond the unchanged silicon, specifications leaked to Android Authority indicate identical dimensions at 171.48 x 73.99 x 7.19mm when unfolded and the same 199g weight.
The camera configuration also remains three 50-megapixel sensors across front and rear arrays, while memory stays at 16GB of RAM paired with 512GB of storage. The sole meaningful upgrade appears confined to battery capacity, which increases from last year's 4,700mAh cell to a reported 5,000mAh unit. That represents a six percent gain accompanied by continued support for 68W wired charging through USB-C Power Delivery.
Motorola has not officially announced launch timing for its next Razr series, but historical patterns suggest an unveiling could occur later this month. The company introduced the Razr Ultra 2025 on April 24 last year before retail availability began May 15.
Pricing remains unconfirmed for the new model, though last year's version carried a $1,300 price tag that CNET reviewer Patrick Holland described as "flipping expensive." Motorola has since discounted that device to $800 as it clears inventory ahead of new releases.
The conservative specification approach arrives as Motorola expands its foldable portfolio with the imminent North American launch of its first book-style Razr Fold this summer. That device features a larger 6,000mAh battery and represents Motorola's direct challenge to Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series in the premium foldable market.
