According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro is currently in mass production and is slated for mass shipments starting in the first week of January 2024. Considering the current schedule, it is likely to hit store shelves in late January or early February, with an estimated 500,000 units expected to be shipped throughout the year. Kuo believes that a positive user feedback will be crucial in determining the market consensus for the product.

Although initial predictions hinted at more sales, Kuo's guess of 500,000 shipments for 2024 is a big deal, especially because the headset costs a lot at $3,499. Kuo believes that a positive user feedback will be crucial in determining the market consensus for the product. Apple's getting their store staff ready to make sure everyone has a great time trying out the Apple Vision Pro.

The headset is expected to be available via an appointment system, with initially only U.S.-based customers gaining access. The limited initial launch is a strategic move to potentially capture the mixed-reality headset market ahead of competitors. If the Apple Vision Pro delivers a positive first impression, it could lead to some sales, even though only a few might want to spend that much. If it does well, then it might start showing up in other places, securing Apple's spot in the mixed-reality world.

Moreover, aside from the Apple Vision Pro, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also hinted at a new Mac event toward the end of 2024, following the anticipated release of the iPhone 16. Kuo's expectations for the timeline of new Mac releases have sparked some debate, particularly regarding the timing of the M3 Ultra machines, Mac Mini, and MacBook Air. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that Kuo's previous predictions have not always aligned with Apple's actual release schedules, as evident from the M3 MacBook Pro lineup release.
