Getting your new POCO X7 Pro set up with all your old stuff is the first thing you want to do, and thankfully, it's pretty straightforward. Whether you're upgrading from another Android phone or making the switch from an iPhone, HyperOS has the tools built right in to get you moved over quickly.

Start the Transfer During Initial Setup

The absolute best time to move your data is when you first power on the X7 Pro. After selecting your language and connecting to Wi-Fi, you'll hit a screen that says "Copy apps & data." Tap Next here. You'll then see your main options: copy directly from your old device or restore from a cloud backup.

If you have your old phone right there, choose "Copy from old device." Your new POCO will guide you to open the Google app on your old phone and say "set up my device," or you can navigate to Settings > Google > Set up & restore > Set up nearby device. The two phones will find each other and let you pick exactly what to bring over.

For the Fastest Transfer, Use a Cable

If you want the most reliable and quickest method, use a USB cable. You'll need a USB-C to USB-C cable or an adapter for your old phone's port. Connect the two phones, and the X7 Pro will automatically detect the connection.

This wired method is great because it doesn't rely on Wi-Fi speed or stability. You can transfer your apps, call logs, contacts, text messages, photos, videos, and even some system settings in one go. I'd start with this one if you have a cable handy.

Restore from a Google One Backup

Don't have your old phone anymore? No problem, as long as you backed it up to Google. During the setup process on your POCO, after signing into your Google account, you'll be shown a list of available backups from your previous devices.

Just pick the most recent one. Your apps will begin reinstalling, and your settings and data will repopulate. It's a good idea to check your old device first to ensure a backup exists. On most Android phones, go to Settings > System > Backup to see the last backup time.

Moving Over from an iPhone

Switching from iOS? The process is integrated. When you reach the "Copy apps & data" screen on your X7 Pro, select "iPhone" as your source. You'll be prompted to connect via a cable (using a USB-C to Lightning adapter) or to use a wireless connection by scanning a QR code with your iPhone's camera.

This will transfer your contacts, calendar events, photos, and videos. Your text messages will come over too. For your apps, you'll need to download the Android versions fresh from the Google Play Store, as iOS apps don't work on Android.

Let Your Google Account Handle the Sync

A huge amount of your important information syncs automatically just by signing in. Once you add your primary Google account to the POCO X7 Pro, your contacts, calendar, Chrome bookmarks and history, and notes from Google Keep will appear.

You can manage exactly what gets synced by going to Settings > Passwords & accounts > Google and tapping on your account. This is also where you'd add other accounts, like work email or social media.

Don't Forget WhatsApp and Other App Data

For WhatsApp, the transfer between Android phones is built-in. On your old phone, open WhatsApp and go to Settings > Chats > Chat transfer. Then, open WhatsApp on your new POCO X7 Pro, log in, and scan the QR code shown on the old phone.

For other apps like games, check if they save progress to Google Play Games or have their own cloud save feature in the settings. Many social media and streaming apps just need you to log in on the new device to pull your data from their servers.

Final Steps After Everything is Moved

Take some time to scroll through your app drawer and your photo gallery to make sure everything looks right. Log into any apps that require fresh authentication, like banking or email clients.

Once you're confident all your data is safely on your new POCO X7 Pro, remember to wipe your old phone. Go into its settings and perform a factory reset before you sell it, trade it in, or pass it along to someone else.
