Need more TikTok Coins to send a Gift? You can top up from your balance screen, on TikTok’s website, or while choosing a Gift. You’ll need a registered account and must be at least 18, or 19 in South Korea, and meet any higher local age-of-majority requirement. Purchases are available only in supported regions.

These recharge procedures do not require downloading, installing, or updating a product. TikTok’s instructions do not specify a minimum app build for buying Coins.

Recharge through your TikTok balance

Start here when you want to buy Coins before choosing a Gift. The balance screen is available in TikTok’s iOS and Android apps where Coins purchases are supported.

Tap Profile in TikTok, then tap Menu ☰. Choose Balance and tap Get Coins.

Select the Coins package you want, then tap Recharge. Complete the app-store purchase, including its authentication prompts.

TikTok’s US Virtual Items Policy names Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Amazon’s Appstore as in-app purchase providers. The documented recharge steps use the applicable app store; a separate Amazon-specific device procedure has not been established.

Buy Coins on TikTok’s website

To recharge in a browser, use TikTok’s official Coins page in a supported country.

Open TikTok’s Coins page and select a Coins package. Click Recharge, then complete checkout using an available payment method.

TikTok’s documentation does not specify browser versions or give separate checkout instructions for mobile and desktop browsers. Account-specific payment options and custom amounts were not verified, so the documented procedure is to choose a package and use an available checkout method.

Add Coins during a LIVE

This recharge route is available in TikTok’s iOS and Android apps for eligible LIVE streams in supported regions. It lets you buy Coins while watching a LIVE.

Tap Gift at the bottom of the LIVE you’re watching in the TikTok app, then tap Recharge. Select a Coins package and complete the purchase through the applicable app store.

Tip: If there’s no Gift button, gifting is unavailable for that LIVE.

Redeem a TikTok Coins gift card

Already have a TikTok Coins gift card? Use its dedicated redemption page, available in countries that support Coins gift cards and redemption.

Open TikTok’s gift-card redemption page. Enter your gift card’s PIN to redeem the Coins.

Gift-card redemption takes place on TikTok’s website, and availability is not worldwide. TikTok’s help does not specify the label of a final confirmation button for this process.

Top up while choosing a video Gift

Video gifting works with eligible videos and Personal Accounts in supported regions; Business, Government, Politician, Political Party, and other public-interest accounts are excluded.

Tap Comments on the video, then tap Gift beside Add comment. Select the Gift you want to send. Tap Recharge if you need more Coins, then follow the payment instructions to complete your purchase.

When you’re ready to send the Gift, write a comment and tap Send. This is separate from recharging and spends Coins.

When balance instructions look different

TikTok’s current Gifts help gives the direct route from the profile menu to Balance, followed by Get Coins. Older instructions commonly include Settings and privacy before Balance and then go straight to Recharge.

TikTok’s Promote payment documentation still mentions Settings and privacy followed by Balance for viewing Coins. Because those instructions differ, the older recharge route cannot confidently be described as current or deprecated everywhere. The balance steps above follow the current Gifts help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I set up automatic recharging for TikTok Coins?

TikTok’s documented ways to buy Coins are all one-time purchases: an in-app purchase through your app store, a purchase on TikTok’s website, or a gift card redeemed on the website. TikTok’s automatic balance recharge is a TikTok Ads Manager feature that tops up an advertising cash balance, not your Coins. TikTok’s Virtual Items Policy also says it may allow additional ways to collect Coins from time to time, so check the in-app purchase screen for anything new.

Can another TikTok user transfer Coins to me?

TikTok’s US Virtual Items Policy prohibits ordinary user-to-user trading or transfer of Virtual Items, including Coins.

Which app stores support TikTok’s in-app purchases?

TikTok’s US Virtual Items Policy lists Apple’s App Store, Google Play, and Amazon’s Appstore for in-app purchases.
