Looking for a Roblox group but can't find the buttons an older tutorial shows? Roblox now uses Communities and Join Community in place of Groups and Join Group. Start with the website or mobile app steps below, then check the approval and verification requirements if joining stops there.
Join through the Roblox website
The website route works in desktop and mobile browsers. Use it to join without downloading an app.
Sign in to your Roblox account. Then select Communities in the left navigation. Find and open the community you want to join, and select Join Community on its page.
Complete any account-verification prompt that appears. If the community requires manual approval, your request goes to its administrators before you become a member.
Finding a community in the mobile app
The app's More menu is your route to community search. Open More, shown as ... at the bottom or in the left navigation, depending on your device. Select Communities.
Search for the community by name using the search bar under My Communities. Open the community from the results. Tap Join Community to join or begin its required verification or approval process.
When your join request stays pending
A community with Manual Approval enabled holds your join request until an authorized administrator approves it. Select Join Community on the community's page to submit your request. Wait for an administrator to approve it. Submitting the request does not make you a member, and there is no joining-user setting that overrides approval.
Complete the required account verification
Select Join Community on the community's page. Follow the account-verification prompt for its Verification Level.
None requires no verification. Low accepts a verified phone number, email address, or ID. Medium requires either ID verification or both phone and email verification. High requires ID verification.
Complete the required verification before joining or requesting membership. Verification also applies when the community requires Manual Approval, so approval does not replace this check.
Use community search or a shared link
For a direct route to search, open Roblox's Search Communities page. Use Search to find a community by name, or browse the listed communities. Open the result you want, and sign in to Roblox if you haven't already. Select Join Community.
A shared roblox.com/communities/ page link leads to the same joining action. To use that route, open the shared link. Sign in if prompted, then select Join Community on the community's page. If either route reaches the community but doesn't complete your membership, check the verification and manual-approval requirements above, then the membership blockers below.
Joining without leaving an experience
Experiences whose developers have added Roblox's native joining prompt let you join without leaving the experience. There is no universal invitation button across experiences.
Activate the experience's community invitation. Confirm joining in the Roblox pop-up. A community with Manual Approval enabled can leave your request pending instead of admitting you immediately.
If the experience has no invitation, use the website or app steps above to reach Join Community.
If Roblox still will not let you join
Reaching Roblox's 100-community membership limit blocks another membership until you free up space. Open the page of an unwanted community that you do not own. Select Leave Community to free up capacity.
Return to the community you want to join. Select Join Community again.
Communities also have other restrictions. An Account Age requirement limits joining based on your account's age, and banned members cannot rejoin until their ban is reversed. Leaving another community does not remove either restriction.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I get ownership back if I leave my own community and rejoin?
No. Rejoining does not restore ownership. Do not leave a community you own just to free up a membership slot.
Can a community administrator invite me directly?
Yes. Owners and authorized members can send invitations through Creator Dashboard. Roblox delivers the notification according to your notification preferences.
What happens to pending requests if an administrator turns off Manual Approval?
Roblox automatically accepts pending join requests when an authorized administrator turns off Manual Approval.
