When a Skylight Calendar is not connecting to WiFi, setup stalls, sync stops, or the Wi-Fi list does not show the network you need. Start with the on-device Wi-Fi screen, then use the router block, hotspot, app setup, and support fixes in the order below.
Start with the Calendar Wi-Fi screen
Use this when you are setting up the Calendar for the first time or the Calendar is powered on but not connected. The same setup flow covers the 10-inch Calendar, 15-inch Calendar, 15-inch Calendar 2, and 27-inch Calendar Max.
Power on the Calendar and wait for Connect to Wi-Fi.
Select your home Wi-Fi network name.
If the network name is missing, tap Reset to refresh the list.
Enter your Wi-Fi password.
Use the eye icon to show or hide the password while you type.
Tap Connect and let the Calendar join the network.
Reconnect from settings after setup
This fixes a Calendar that already completed setup but needs to join Wi-Fi again.
On the Calendar screen, tap Settings.
Open General.
Tap the Wi-Fi box.
Choose your Wi-Fi network in Connect to Wi-Fi.
If the network does not appear, tap Reset to refresh the list.
Enter the password.
Tap Connect.
Tap Refresh to restart the Wi-Fi connection with that network.
Reset the saved Wi-Fi connection
When the Calendar keeps failing on a known network, clear the saved Wi-Fi connection and reconnect from the current network list.
- 1.Once the Calendar powers on, press Settings.
- 2.Select General, then tap WiFi.
- 3.When WiFi opens, tap Reset at the bottom.
- 4.Choose your network from the list.
- 5.Enter the Wi-Fi password again to reconnect.
Restart the Calendar and test home Wi-Fi
Unplug the Calendar's power adapter from the wall outlet, wait 5 seconds, and plug it back in. If the Calendar stopped seeing or connecting to your home Wi-Fi, use the longer restart: unplug it, wait 20 seconds, plug it back in, and wait for startup to finish.
Test the same Wi-Fi network on another device, such as a phone or computer. On a phone, turn on Airplane Mode, turn on Wi-Fi, and test the internet connection through Wi-Fi only.
If other devices cannot connect to the same network, contact your internet provider about an outage.
Move closer to the router
Distance from the router is the next signal check. Move the Skylight Calendar closer to the Wi-Fi router, then try connecting again from the Wi-Fi list.
Use within 15 feet as the test distance.
If moving closer fails, try a different network or mobile hotspot next to separate a Calendar issue from a home-network issue.
Isolate the network with a hotspot
From Connect to Wi-Fi, choose a different Wi-Fi network or connect to a mobile hotspot instead of your home network. If the Calendar works on the hotspot, treat the home network as the cause.
In your router app or admin surface, check for device blocking, pausing, parental controls, or MAC address rules. The Calendar gets blocked even when the Wi-Fi name and password are correct.
For public Wi-Fi, connect normally only when the network has no sign-in page or terms screen. If it requires approval and you have access to IT, activate the Calendar on an alternate network or mobile hotspot, tap the Skylight screen, select Settings, select How it Works, and retrieve the MAC address from the bottom-left corner. Give that MAC address to the public network IT or security admin for the approved-device list.
Remove a router block
Open the app you use to manage your router, such as Xfinity, eero, or Netgear.
Go to Devices or the equivalent device list.
Scroll to the blocked devices list.
Look for Ampak, Quectel, Hui Zhou, InPro, or Generic Android.
Remove that device from the blocked list.
Restart the Calendar by unplugging it, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in.
Tip: match the blocked entry by MAC address when the device name is unclear.
Check the Calendar MAC address
This fixes cases where the router, parental controls, ISP app, or managed network blocks the Calendar by MAC address.
On the Calendar, tap the Settings icon.
Open General.
Swipe down and note the MAC Address.
In your router app or admin surface, check the blocklist for that MAC address.
Remove that MAC address from the blocklist.
Restart the Calendar by unplugging it, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in.
During first-time setup, select the information button on Connect to Wi-Fi to display the Calendar's MAC address.
Use the app or reset only when needed
Set up Wi-Fi through the Skylight Mobile App when the Calendar is plugged in and powered on. Open the app, log in or tap Create Account, then on Let's Get Started choose Set up a new Skylight device, Calendar, and Let's Go!.
On iPhone or iPad, install or update Skylight App from the Apple App Store. On Android, install or update Skylight from Google Play.
Factory reset is a last-resort start-over step, not the first Wi-Fi fix. On the Calendar, go to Settings, General, and Reset Device, confirm when prompted, and write down the activation code shown during reset so the Calendar can be restored later.
Skylight Frame instructions such as Reset Wi-Fi or pressing and holding Reset WiFi three times are for Skylight Frame, not the current Calendar Wi-Fi path. For Skylight Calendar, use Settings, General, Wi-Fi or WiFi, and Reset. If the Calendar still will not connect after these steps, submit a Help Request from Skylight Support or email [email protected] and include the troubleshooting you already tried.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Skylight Calendar show no Wi-Fi networks?
Restart the Calendar by unplugging it, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in. Then tap Reset on Connect to Wi-Fi to refresh available networks.
Can Skylight Calendar connect to public Wi-Fi?
Yes, when the public Wi-Fi does not require a sign-in page or terms screen. For approval-based networks, activate the Calendar on another network or hotspot, then ask IT to allowlist the Calendar by MAC address.
How do I keep the Skylight app updated before setup?
On iPhone or iPad, enable App Updates in iOS Settings under App Store preferences. On Android, open your Google Play Store profile, go to Manage apps & device, select Skylight, tap ..., and choose Enable auto-update.
When should I use Remove & Reset device in the Skylight app?
Use Remove & Reset device when you need a different configuration, profiles, or Skylight user account, not as the first router fix. In the Skylight Mobile App or Skylight Desktop App, open My Skylight Menu, select Linked devices, open the menu next to the Calendar, select Remove & Reset device, and confirm Remove & Reset device.
