Your Philips TV won’t connect to WiFi, leaving you stuck at setup or unable to open a streaming service. Start with a quick internet check, then work through reconnecting, reception, and software fixes before resetting the TV. Philips Google TV, Roku, and Titan OS models use different menus, so follow the instructions that match your platform and model.

Find out whether the TV is the only device offline

Open a website on another device connected to the same Wi-Fi network. If that device also cannot get online, start with the modem or router.

Restart the router by disconnecting and reconnecting its power.

Test internet access on the other device again.

Contact your internet service provider if other devices remain offline.

If restarting the router leaves only the TV disconnected, try selecting your network and entering its password again using the matching instructions below.

Reconnect using your TV’s network menu

Use the entry that matches your Philips TV’s platform or model.

  1. 1.On a US Google TV with these menus, select Home > Google account icon > Settings > Network & Internet. Select your network and press OK. Enter its password and select the keyboard checkmark.
  2. 2.On an OLED909 Google TV, open Settings > Network and Internet > Wi-Fi > On/Off and enable Wi-Fi. Select your network, or choose Add New Network for a hidden network. Enter the network credentials.
  3. 3.On a Philips Roku TV, open Home > Settings > Network > Set up connection > Wireless. If your network is missing, select Scan again to see all networks. Choose the network, enter its case-sensitive password, and select Connect.
  4. 4.On a PUS9000 Titan OS TV, open Home > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Wi-Fi On/Off and enable it. Return to Wired or Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wireless (Wi-Fi). Select your network and enter its password, or choose Add New Network to enter a hidden network’s name and credentials.

Clear an old saved connection

Use this route when the TV still has an obsolete network saved. Google TV lets you forget that network; Roku has a separate connection reset.

On a Philips US Google TV, open Settings > Network & Internet > old network name > OK > Forget Network.

Reconnect to the intended network with its password.

To reset the Google TV wireless connection itself, switch off Wi-Fi under Settings > Network & Internet.

Wait 20 seconds.

Switch Wi-Fi back on.

On Roku, select Settings > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset > Reset connection. If Advanced system settings is not on the Settings menu, open Settings > System > Advanced system settings instead, where Roku's factory-reset instructions place it.

After the Roku TV restarts, reconnect through Settings > Network > Set up connection > Wireless.

Restart the TV and inspect its connection

Restart a Google TV through Settings > System > Restart.

Restart a Roku TV through Home > Settings > System > Power > System restart. If Power is absent, select System restart directly.

Inspect a US Google TV’s signal, connection status, and IP address under Settings > Network & Internet > connected network.

On an OLED909, inspect the connection through Settings > Network and Internet > View network settings.

Run a Roku connection test through Home > Settings > Network > Check connection.

Review Roku’s separate local-network and internet results.

Run a PUS9000’s network diagnostic through Quick Menu > Help > Self-diagnose > Check the network.

On an OLED911, check the connection through Home > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Check the network.

Use Roku’s restart menu for a full system restart; pressing the ordinary power button alone does not perform one.

Improve reception when Wi-Fi keeps dropping

Weak reception and wireless interference cause unreliable Wi-Fi connections.

Move the router closer to the TV, clear of obstructions and away from microwaves, cordless phones, and baby monitors.

Pause other large downloads or streams while testing the TV.

For a Google TV with weak reception or unreliable automatic band selection, give the router’s 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands separate network names in its administration interface. Router menu labels depend on the manufacturer.

Connect the TV to the separate 2.4 GHz network.

Where reception is good and both devices support it, try the 5 GHz network.

For a Philips Roku TV that cannot see a 5 GHz network, check its hardware identifier against Roku’s wireless compatibility information.

For compatible hardware, configure the router to use a supported non-DFS channel, such as one in the 36–48 range.

Install updates over a working connection

Connect the TV to the router by Ethernet when Wi-Fi is unavailable and the TV has an Ethernet socket. On Roku, select Home > Settings > Network > Set up connection > Wired. On an OLED911, select Home > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wired or Wi-Fi > Connect to network > Wired.

On Google TV, check for updates through Settings > System > About > System update > Check for update. Install any offered update.

On Roku, check through Home > Settings > System > Software update > Check Now. Install any offered updates.

On an OLED911 Titan OS TV, start the update check through Home > Settings > Update software > Search for updates > Internet (Recommended). For another model, search Philips support using its full model number, including the regional suffix such as /F7, to open the manuals, FAQs, and other support resources Philips publishes for that model.

Save a full reset for last

A full reset clears saved TV data or settings so you can start setup again.

On Google TV, start the reset through Settings > System > About > Factory reset. This erases device data.

On Roku, start the reset through Home > Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset > Factory reset everything. This erases preferences, apps and account information, and network settings.

On an OLED911 Titan OS TV, open Home > Settings > General settings > Reinstall TV. This resets settings and channel installation.

Enter your PIN when the OLED911 prompts you.

Select Yes to confirm the OLED911 reinstall.

Complete setup again after your TV finishes its reset.

If the TV still cannot connect, select Contact support on Philips support.

Provide the full model number and your test results, including whether other devices connect, what the TV’s connection test reports, and whether Ethernet or another network worked.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does only one streaming app fail when my Philips TV is connected?

On Google TV, troubleshoot the app’s stored data and account when the network connection works. Select Settings > Apps > See all apps > affected app > Clear data. This removes that app’s stored data. Reopen the app. For a service-account problem, check that the selected profile matches the service account under Settings > Accounts and sign-in.

How do I test my Philips Roku TV on a different network?

Enable your phone’s hotspot. On the TV, open Settings > Network > Set up connection > Wireless. Select the hotspot. Enter its password to connect. Mobile-data limits apply.

Does Clear Internet Memory reset the Wi-Fi password on Titan OS?

Philips describes Clear Internet Memory on the PUS9000 as a cleanup of service registrations, logins, and browser data, not a Wi-Fi password reset.

Can a Philips TV connect to a WPA3 network?

The Philips OLED909 supports WPA2/WPA3 credentials. That support does not extend automatically to other models. Check your exact model’s manual for its supported security settings.

Why can’t I cast to my OLED909 when it is in standby?

If the TV connects normally while awake, enable Settings > Network and Internet > Switch On with Wi-Fi (WoWLAN). Then enable Switch on with Chromecast in the same menu.
