Your Honor Magic 7 Pro uses cached data to make apps load faster, but that temporary storage can build up and cause slowdowns or storage warnings. Clearing it out is a quick way to refresh your phone's performance without losing any personal information.
Clear an Individual App's Cache
Open Settings and tap on Apps. You'll see a list of all your installed applications. Tap on any app name to open its info page, then select Storage & cache. Here, tap the Clear cache button.
This only removes temporary files the app created. Your login details, saved preferences, and account data within the app stay perfectly safe. I'd focus on data-heavy apps like Chrome, YouTube, Instagram, or games first, as they tend to build the largest caches.
Use the Phone Manager for a Broader Clean
Honor's MagicOS includes a handy tool for this. Find and open the Phone Manager app on your home screen or in your app drawer. Tap on Cleanup & acceleration and let it scan.
The tool will show you junk files, which include app caches, residual files, and temporary downloads. You can review the items and then tap to clean them all at once. It's a much faster method than clearing each app one by one.
Clear Your Browser Cache in Chrome
If you use Chrome, its cache is managed separately. Open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right. Go to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.
Under the Basic tab, make sure Cached images and files is selected. You can choose a time range, but "All time" gives you the cleanest slate. Tap Clear data to finish. This won't log you out of your websites.
Free Up Space in the Downloads Folder
Don't forget about your downloads. Open the Files app on your phone and navigate to the Downloads category. You'd be surprised how many old APK files, documents, or images pile up in here over time.
Long-press on files or folders you no longer need and tap delete. This is manual, but it directly frees up space that cache cleaning might not touch. It's a good habit to check this folder every few weeks.
Restart Your Honor Magic 7 Pro
Sometimes, the simplest fix is the best. A full restart clears out the system's active memory (RAM) and any temporary glitches holding onto cache. Just press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then tap Restart.
If your screen is unresponsive, you can force a restart by holding the power button down for about 10 seconds until you feel the device vibrate and see the Honor logo. This is a safe first step for any minor performance issue.
Check What's Using Your Storage
For a detailed breakdown, go to Settings > Storage. This screen shows you exactly what's filling your 512GB or 1TB of space. Tap on categories like Apps, Images, or Audio to see the largest items.
This view can help you decide if you need to clear app caches, move photos to cloud storage, or uninstall a game you haven't played in months. Managing storage proactively helps keep MagicOS running smoothly.
