YouTube splits subscriber information across Studio, the YouTube app, analytics cards, and privacy settings, so the answer depends on what you want to see. Start in YouTube Studio for the exact count, then use the subscriber list or analytics reports when you need names, trends, or sources.
See your exact subscriber count in YouTube Studio
Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer, then open Analytics from the left-hand menu. Stay on the Overview tab and find the Realtime card. Choose See live count. Google began gradually rolling out an updated Studio experience in July 2026, so use Analytics if the page layout looks different.
Use the Studio dashboard for a quick count
The dashboard is the fastest place to check your current total without opening the full Analytics view.
- 1.Go to YouTube Studio in your browser.
- 2.From YouTube, choose your profile picture and select YouTube Studio.
- 3.Open Dashboard.
- 4.Find the Channel Analytics card.
- 5.Read Current subscribers and the subscriber data for the last 28 days.
Find recent subscriber names on desktop
Use this when you want to see which accounts recently subscribed, not just the total number. YouTube shows subscribers here only when they made their subscriptions public and subscribed within the last 28 days.
Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer, then open Dashboard. Find the Recent subscribers card and choose See all. At the top, choose the timeframe you want, then sort by subscriber count when you want larger channels near the top. Private subscriptions, suspended accounts, and accounts YouTube identifies as spam do not appear in this list.
Check subscribers in the YouTube Studio app
Open the YouTube Studio app on Android, iPhone, or iPad, then tap Menu at the bottom. Choose Analytics and open the Overview tab. Use the Realtime card to see subscriber metrics, then tap the Realtime card for more detail. For the dashboard total, open Dashboard from the bottom menu and use the Total subscribers card.
Fix an incomplete subscriber list
The most common cause is private subscriptions: YouTube only shows subscribers who made their subscriptions public.
Open YouTube Studio and go back to Dashboard, then use the Recent subscribers card. Set the timeframe at the top to match the period you want to check. Remember that the list covers recent subscribers from the last 28 days. Suspended accounts and accounts YouTube identifies as spam are excluded.
View subscribers in the regular YouTube app
On a phone or tablet, the main YouTube app can show the channel owner a subscriber list sorted by recency.
- 1.Open the YouTube app on Android, iPhone, or iPad.
- 2.Tap You in the bottom-right corner.
- 3.Under your name, tap View channel.
- 4.Under your channel name, tap See your subscribers.
Review subscriber trends and sources
Sign in to YouTube Studio on a computer, then choose Analytics from the left menu. Open Audience from the top menu and use the Subscribers card to review subscriber trends for your channel or an individual video.
To see where subscribers came from, choose See more on an Analytics card, then change the top selector to Subscription source. The Subscription source report appears when the selected channel or video has enough traffic in the chosen time period.
Control privacy settings that affect visibility
Your own privacy setting controls whether other channels can see your account in their subscriber lists when you subscribe to them. On a computer, sign in to YouTube, choose your profile picture, open Settings, select Privacy, then turn Keep all my subscriptions private on or off.
That setting does not reveal hidden subscribers on your own channel. It only controls whether your account appears in another channel's Subscribers List.
YouTube no longer provides a current Studio setting for hiding your channel's subscriber count. Viewers can see a shortened version of a channel's subscriber count.
Use the YouTube Data API
Developers can retrieve subscriber data through the YouTube Data API with an authorized subscriptions.list request. Use myRecentSubscribers=true for newest-first subscribers, or use mySubscribers=true for subscribers in no particular order.
To retrieve a channel's displayed subscriber count, use channels.list with part=statistics and a channel filter such as id, mine, forHandle, or forUsername, then read statistics.subscriberCount. Public counts follow YouTube's displayed subscriber count policy, so larger public counts are shortened.
If the API method gives you less than you need, check YouTube Studio instead for the supported creator-facing subscriber count, recent subscriber list, and analytics reports.
