Disable the Auto Brightness Feature

You can manually adjust the brightness of the screen from the notification drop down. Before that, you need to disable the Auto Brightness feature on your smartphone.
Go to Settings > Display > Auto Brightness and toggle is off.
You will now be able to adjust the brightness of the smartphone on the slider when you drag down the notification drop down.
