For just $349.99, below its 30-day average of $428.16. Over the past 90 days, this drive has averaged $353.64, making today's price a solid improvement. While it's above the 180-day average of $254.64, the current discount represents a meaningful drop from recent pricing trends.

What You're Getting

This 2TB WD_BLACK SN850X delivers PCIe 4.0 performance with read speeds up to 7,300 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,300 MB/s. It's built with SanDisk TLC 3D NAND and includes optional heatsink versions for better thermal management during intense gaming sessions. The drive supports the WD_BLACK Dashboard software for monitoring drive health, customizing RGB lighting, and enabling Game Mode 2.0. Advanced features like Predictive Loading, Overhead Balancing, and Adaptive Thermal Management help maintain peak performance.

Who This Is For

Best for PC gamers and content creators who need fast storage for large game libraries and media files. This drive makes sense if you're building a new system or upgrading from slower SATA or PCIe 3.0 drives.

It's also ideal for workstation users who move large files regularly. Wait if you're on a tight budget or can make do with smaller capacity drives.

The Caveat

The WD_BLACK SN850X requires a motherboard with PCIe 4.0 support to reach its maximum speeds. Users with older PCIe 3.0 systems will see reduced performance. The optional heatsink version may not fit all motherboard configurations, so check your clearance before purchasing.

Final Verdict

At $349.99, this WD_BLACK SN850X offers premium PCIe 4.0 performance at a price that undercuts its recent average by nearly $80. For gamers and creators who need fast 2TB storage now, this discount makes a compelling case to upgrade.

If you can wait for deeper seasonal discounts, you might find better pricing later in the year.
