For just $899.99, below its 30-day average of $990.88. The 90-day average sits at $790.71 and the 180-day average at $598.09, so this isn't an all-time low, but it is the best price we've seen in the last month.

If you need the drive now rather than waiting for a deeper dip. This is a solid entry point.

What You're Getting

The Samsung 990 PRO delivers sequential read speeds up to 7,450 MB/s and write speeds up to 6,900 MB/s, pushing close to the ceiling of PCIe 4.0. Samsung claims a 55 percent improvement in random performance over the 980 PRO, which translates to faster game loads, quicker file transfers, and snappier workstation workflows. The drive is available in capacities from 1TB to 4TB, and the 4TB model here gives you room for a full game library plus project files. Power efficiency is up 50 percent per watt over the previous generation, meaning less heat and lower draw during sustained use.

Who This Is For

This is for PC builders and laptop users who need a high-capacity boot or secondary drive without moving to PCIe 5.0. It's also a strong pick for PS5 owners who want to max out storage with a drive that meets Sony's speed requirements.

If you're still on PCIe 3.0 or don't need 4TB of space, the 1TB and 2TB variants offer lower entry points.

Final Verdict

The 990 PRO is one of the fastest Gen4 SSDs on the market, and $899.99 for the 4TB version is a fair price if you need the capacity now. The 90-day average suggests it has been lower, so buyers who can wait might see steeper discounts, but this is a clean deal for anyone ready to upgrade today.
