What You're Getting

It uses a DRAM-less HMB design that keeps power draw low and thermals in check for handheld use. The 3D TLC NAND and bundled Acronis True Image software for data migration make this a proper retail-grade upgrade over risky OEM pulls.

Who This Is For

Best for Steam Deck and ROG Ally owners who want to max out storage without sacrificing speed. Also a solid fit for Surface Pro 8/9 users looking for a Gen4 upgrade in the 2230 slot.

Final Verdict

At $115 off the 30-day average. This is the price to move on if you need 1 TB of fast Gen4 storage in the 2230 form factor. Handheld gamers and ultrabook users get the biggest value here.
