The D7500 has fluctuated between $897 and $1,750 over its life, with recent pricing hovering around the $1,040 mark for the past three months. At $996.95, this sits below both the 90-day and 180-day averages, making it one of the better entry points in recent months. The kit includes the versatile AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR lens, covering wide-angle to telephoto in a single walk-around zoom.

What You're Getting

• 20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor with EXPEED 5 image processor, same metering and processing found in the D500
• 3.2-inch 922K dot tilting touchscreen LCD for flexible framing and intuitive control
• 51-point autofocus system with 15 cross-type sensors and group-area AF, paired with 8 fps continuous shooting
• 4K UHD and 1080p Full HD video with stereo sound, power aperture control, and in-camera time-lapse
• Built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and SnapBridge connectivity for smooth image transfer

Who This Is For

This is aimed at photographers moving up from entry-level DSLRs or mirrorless cameras who want a body with professional-grade internals without the full-frame price tag. The D7500's D500-derived AF system and 8 fps burst rate make it a strong pick for sports, wildlife, and event shooters on a budget.

If you already own a D7200 or D7500 and mainly shoot video, the limited 4K crop factor might make an upgrade to the Z series worth considering instead.

Final Verdict

For $996.95 with the 18-140mm kit lens, you are getting D500-level processing and AF in a lighter, more affordable body. The price is well below recent averages, and the savings off list make this a straightforward call if you need a rugged, fast-shooting DSLR today.
