Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo announced today that it will be launching its T2 series in India on April 11 at noon local time. The T2 lineup will consist of two smartphones - the Vivo T2 5G and the Vivo T2x 5G.

The Vivo T2x was originally introduced in China in May of last year with the Dimensity 1300 SoC, 6.58" 144Hz FullHD+ LCD, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 44W charging. It features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and three cameras - a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP selfie camera.

The Vivo T2 was also expected to launch in China in the first half of 2022, but it was ultimately canceled. However, images and specs of the phone were mistakenly uploaded to Vivo's website, revealing that it was just a version of the iQOO Neo6 SE.

The teaser image shared by Vivo India indicates that the Indian versions of the T2 and T2x will be different from their Chinese counterparts, as their camera islands have a different design and do not protrude. In addition, both phones will have a flat design.

While Vivo has not yet released the detailed specifications for the T2 and T2x in India, the promo page on Indian online retailer Flipkart's website reveals that at least one smartphone will have a FullHD+ AMOLED display with a 1,300 nits peak brightness, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a centered punch hole for the selfie camera. More information about the cameras, processor, and launch offers will be announced on April 7, 9, and 11, respectively.
