Android devices come with a wide range of settings that can optimise performance, enhance battery life, and improve your overall user experience. While some settings are buried deep within menus, tweaking them can make a noticeable difference.

Once Developer Options are enabled, go to Settings > Developer Options. Look for Window animation scale, Transition animation scale, and Animator duration scale. Set these to 0.5x or turn them off completely to make your device feel snappier.

3. Limit Background Processes

Too many background processes can slow down your device. In Developer Options, find the Limit Background Processes setting. Set it to At most 4 processes or fewer to free up system resources and improve performance.

4. Optimize Battery Usage

Optimizing battery settings can help prolong your device’s battery life and maintain performance. Go to Settings > (or - Device Care) and select 'Optimise now' to optimise your ‘Battery’, ‘Storage’, ‘Memory’ and ‘Security’. Additionally, use Adaptive Battery under the battery settings to limit battery usage for infrequently used apps.

5. Use a High-Performance Mode

Some devices come with a high-performance mode that optimizes settings for the best performance. Go to Settings > Device Care > Battery > Power mode (this may vary by manufacturer) and select High Performance to get the most out of your device.

6. Enable Night Mode or Blue Light Filter

Using your smartphone for extended periods can strain your eyes. Set your display to Dark Mode to save battery life and enable Eye Comfort Shield to reduce blue light exposure. Go to Settings > Display & brightness > Night Mode (or Blue Light Filter) and schedule it to turn on automatically from sunset to sunrise.
