When your Realme GT 7 Pro suddenly goes silent, it can throw a wrench in your day. Whether you're missing calls, can't hear your music, or videos play without a peep, the issue is usually something simple. The good news is that with Android 15 and Realme UI 6.0, most sound glitches have straightforward fixes you can try right now.

If you are not sure whether it is the speakers or the software, run an online online speaker test first. Working test tones rule out a hardware fault in seconds.

Check Your Volume and Sound Mode

This is the absolute first thing to check. While playing media or during a call, press the volume up button on the side of your phone. Make sure you haven't accidentally toggled the phone into silent or vibrate mode by tapping the notification that pops up.

For more control, go into Settings > Sound & vibration. Here, you can adjust the media, ringtone, and alarm volumes individually. Ensure none of the sliders are all the way down. Also, confirm your sound mode at the top is set to "Ring" and not "Silent" or "Vibrate."

Disconnect Bluetooth and Accessories

Your GT 7 Pro might be trying to send audio to a device that isn't there anymore. Swipe down from the top of your screen to open the Quick Settings panel and look for the Bluetooth icon. If it's highlighted, tap it to turn Bluetooth off completely.

You can also go to Settings > Bluetooth and toggle it off there. Also, physically remove any headphones from the USB-C port. A slightly dirty or loose connection can sometimes trick the phone into thinking headphones are plugged in, which mutes the speakers.

Clean the Speaker Grills

The GT 7 Pro's bottom-firing speaker grill can easily collect pocket lint and dust. Grab a soft-bristled brush, like a clean makeup brush or a new toothbrush, and gently brush across the speaker slit. You can also use a dry cotton swab.

Never use compressed air or poke anything sharp like a pin into the grill, as you could damage the speaker diaphragm. A quick visual check with your phone's flashlight can show if there's a visible blockage.

Review Do Not Disturb and App-Specific Settings

Check if Do Not Disturb is active. Swipe down twice for the full Quick Settings menu and look for the "Do Not Disturb" tile. If it's on, tap it to disable it. For more detailed rules, go to Settings > Sound & vibration > Do Not Disturb.

Sometimes, the issue is with just one app. Open the app that's having sound problems, like YouTube or Spotify, and check its in-app volume slider. Also, go to Settings > Apps, select the problematic app, tap Notifications, and make sure its notifications aren't set to "Silent."

Force Restart Your Phone

A simple reboot clears out temporary software hiccups that can affect audio. For the Realme GT 7 Pro, press and hold the Power button for about 10 seconds until you feel a vibration and see the Realme logo appear on the screen.

This forces the phone to shut down and start back up. It's different from a normal restart and often resolves deeper system glitches without affecting your data. I'd start with this if the sound cut out suddenly.

Check for a Software Update

Realme frequently releases updates that fix bugs, including audio-related ones. Since you're on Android 15 with Realme UI 6.0, it's worth making sure you have the latest patch.

Go to Settings > About device and tap on "Realme UI Version." Then, tap the three-dot menu in the top right and select "Check for updates." If an update is available, install it. Make sure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi and has at least a 50% charge, or better yet, plug in the included 120W charger.

Boot Into Safe Mode

If the sound works in Safe Mode, you know a third-party app you installed is the culprit. To enter Safe Mode on the GT 7 Pro, press and hold the Power button until the power menu appears. Then, press and hold the "Power off" option on your screen.

A prompt will appear asking if you want to reboot to Safe Mode. Tap "OK." Your phone will restart, and "Safe Mode" will appear in the bottom corner. Test your sound now. To exit, just restart your phone normally.

Reset All Settings

This will revert all your system settings, like Wi-Fi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and display preferences, back to factory defaults, but it won't touch your photos, apps, or personal files. It's a good middle step before considering a full reset.

Go to Settings > Additional settings > Back up and reset. Tap on "Reset phone," then choose "Reset all settings." Confirm your choice and enter your lock screen PIN if prompted. Your phone will reboot, and you'll need to reconfigure your preferences, but it often clears up persistent sound issues.

Clear the System Cache (Advanced)

Corrupted cache files from old updates or apps can cause strange behavior. To clear the system cache on your Realme GT 7 Pro, you need to boot into Recovery Mode. First, power off your phone completely.

Then, press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together. Release them when you see the Realme logo. Use the volume buttons to navigate to "Wipe data" and press the power button to select it. Choose "Wipe cache" and confirm. Finally, select "Reboot" to start your phone normally.
