When your POCO X7 Pro won't send pictures, it's usually a quick fix. The most common culprit is a simple setting or a temporary app glitch. I'd start by checking your mobile data or WiFi connection first, as that solves the issue more often than not.

Check Your Mobile Data and MMS Settings

Open your Settings app and go to SIM cards & mobile networks. Make sure mobile data is turned on for the SIM you're using. If you're trying to send a picture via SMS/MMS (a text message), you need to have your mobile data enabled, even if you're on WiFi.

While you're there, tap on your SIM card and look for an Access Point Names (APN) section. If your carrier's APN settings are missing or incorrect, MMS pictures won't send. You can usually get the correct APN details from your carrier's website or customer service.

Verify Your Internet Connection

A weak or unstable connection is a prime suspect. If you're on WiFi, check that the icon is solid in your status bar. Try opening a webpage to confirm it's working. For mobile data, look at your signal bars. Moving to a different spot can sometimes get you the stronger signal needed to push a photo through.

It's worth toggling your connections off and on. Pull down the quick settings panel and tap the WiFi and mobile data icons to turn them off, wait a few seconds, then turn them back on. This refreshes the connection to the network.

Force Close and Reopen Your Messaging App

Whether you use Google Messages, WhatsApp, or another app, it can get stuck. Swipe up from the bottom of your screen and hold to enter the recent apps view. Find your messaging app and swipe it all the way up to close it completely.

Wait a moment, then tap the app icon to reopen it fresh. Try sending the picture again. This clears out any temporary cache or glitch that was hanging up the send process.

Clear the Messaging App's Cache

If force closing didn't help, the app's cached data might be corrupted. Go to Settings > Apps > Manage apps and find your messaging app in the list. Tap on it, then select Storage usage.

Tap Clear cache. This deletes temporary files without touching your message history or personal data. After clearing, open the app and try sending your photo again.

Check for App and System Updates

An outdated app can have bugs that break picture sending. Head to the Google Play Store, tap your profile icon, and go to Manage apps & device. See if there's an update available for your messaging app.

Also check for a system update. On your POCO X7 Pro, go to Settings > About phone > HyperOS version. Tap the check for update button. Installing the latest HyperOS update can resolve underlying software issues affecting connectivity or messaging.

Disable Data Saver or Battery Saver Modes

These power-saving features restrict background data, which can prevent pictures from uploading. Pull down your notification shade twice to see the full quick settings tiles. Look for Battery saver or Data saver and make sure they are turned off.

You can also find these in Settings. Go to Settings > Battery to disable Battery saver, and Settings > SIM cards & mobile networks > Data usage to turn off Data saver. With these off, your apps have full network access.

Try Sending with a Different App or Method

This helps pinpoint where the problem is. If a picture won't send in WhatsApp, try sending it via Google Messages or email. If it sends successfully through another app, then the issue is isolated to your original messaging app.

If it won't send through any app, the problem is likely with your phone's network connection or system settings. This is a useful bit of detective work before moving on to more involved fixes.

Perform a Network Settings Reset

This will wipe all your saved network information and restore the defaults. Go to Settings > Additional settings > Backup & reset. Tap on Reset network settings.

You'll need to confirm your PIN or pattern. This will erase all saved WiFi passwords, Bluetooth pairings, and mobile network settings. After the reset, you'll have to reconnect to your WiFi and re-pair Bluetooth devices, but it often clears up stubborn connection bugs.

Restart Your POCO X7 Pro

A simple reboot can work wonders by clearing out system memory and stopping any errant processes. Just press and hold the power button until the power menu appears, then tap "Restart".

If the phone is unresponsive, you can force a restart. Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds or more, until you feel it vibrate and see the POCO logo appear on the screen. This is a hard reset that doesn't delete any data.

Check File Size and Format

There's often a size limit for pictures sent via MMS, typically around 1MB. If your photo is a huge, high-resolution file from the X7 Pro's camera, the carrier's network might reject it. Try sending a smaller, lower-quality version.

You can do this quickly in the Google Photos app. Open the picture, tap the share icon, and before sending, look for an option that says something like "Send in original quality" or "Send as a file". Choosing a compressed option can make all the difference.
