Mobile gamers can finally download Rainbow Six Mobile worldwide after four years of development and regional testing. Ubisoft's free-to-play tactical shooter arrived on both Android and iOS platforms today, bringing the signature 5v5 Attack vs Defense gameplay from Rainbow Six Siege to touchscreens.
The mobile adaptation condenses matches to around 10 minutes for shorter play sessions while maintaining core mechanics like operator selection, environmental destruction, and strategic team play. Players choose from more than 20 operators including familiar faces like Ash and Mute, each equipped with unique abilities and gadgets.
Ubisoft Montreal developed the title with support from multiple co-development studios, creating a mobile-first experience optimized for touch controls. The game includes customizable HUD options to accommodate different play styles and supports ranked competitive play alongside casual modes.
Global availability follows extended testing phases across Asia and Latin America since the project's initial announcement in 2022. With its worldwide rollout complete, Ubisoft positions Rainbow Six Mobile as a long-term addition to its live service portfolio rather than a limited-time experiment.
Seasonal content begins immediately with Operation Sand Wraith, which launched one week ahead of schedule. The desert-themed update introduces new operator Deimos, whose DeathMARK Tracker ability forces targeted 1v1 duels by locking onto single opponents.
Rainbow Six Mobile joins a growing lineup of premium mobile adaptations from major console franchises, competing in a market where tactical shooters have struggled to translate complex mechanics effectively to smaller screens.
The release comes as Rainbow Six Siege maintains over 80 million registered players across PC and console platforms.
