SpaceX expanded Starlink's customer support phone line to 24/7 operations this week, adding Australia and New Zealand coverage to existing US and Canada service.

The satellite internet provider previously offered phone support from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Central Time on weekdays. That expanded to 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM in November before the current round-the-clock upgrade.

The official Starlink FAQ now states "The phone line is open 24/7."

SpaceX quietly debuted the customer service hotline in 2024 for US and Canada subscribers facing connection issues. Users must supply the phone number registered to their Starlink subscription to access live support.

"Live support is available 24/7 for active customers in need of assistance,"

according to company communications reviewed by PCMag. The company appears to be notifying select customers about the Australia and New Zealand expansion through email alerts.

Customer service has been a persistent challenge for Starlink's satellite internet business. Some users report positive experiences with quick response times and free equipment replacements. Others complain about abnormally long wait times after filing digital support tickets through the app or website.

The 24/7 hotline provides an alternative to Starlink's existing support channels, which include a help center and chatbot. In markets like Indonesia, Kenya, and Oman, Starlink already offered local customer support phone lines.

SpaceX maintains a separate sales team phone number, (888) GO-STARLINK, for service questions and orders. The customer service upgrade coincides with ongoing Starlink satellite deployments.

SpaceX launched 24 Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Wednesday, marking the company's 12th Starlink mission this year. The Falcon 9 rocket delivered the broadband internet satellites to low Earth orbit.

The launch used booster B1100 on its third flight, following previous Starlink and NROL-105 missions. The first stage landed on the "Of Course I Still Love You" droneship in the Pacific Ocean approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff.

Starlink's constellation now exceeds 9,600 satellites providing internet coverage to underserved areas worldwide. The service also powers direct cell-to-satellite calls on select providers and in-flight wifi on airlines including United.

SpaceX's customer service investment follows recent hardware discounts and cheaper monthly internet plans aimed at growing the satellite internet service.

The company continues regular satellite deployments while addressing subscriber support needs as it targets a mid-to-late 2026 public offering that could become one of the largest IPOs in history.
