A delayed security patch arriving near month's end now serves as the entry ticket to Samsung's next software platform for its aging flagship lineup. The Galaxy S24 series received the March 2026 security update this week after Samsung missed its typical early-month deployment window.

The CZC1 build patches 67 vulnerabilities across Android and One UI components while clearing temporary system files that can slow device performance.

Initial distribution began in South Korea with global expansion expected shortly, according to reports from Android Police and Sammy Fans. The update addresses 60 Android Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures alongside seven Samsung-specific security issues.

Installation of this patch becomes mandatory for users seeking access to Samsung's upcoming One UI 8.5 Beta program. Internal testing for the beta has reportedly begun, with a public announcement potentially arriving within days.

Samsung's update cadence has slipped noticeably in recent months. February's security patches arrived late, and March's deployment comes as the month nears conclusion rather than at its beginning, a departure from the company's previous consistency.

The vulnerability breakdown reveals eight critical flaws among the total patched issues, alongside 52 high-severity and three moderate threats. These span both Google's Android framework and Samsung's proprietary software layers.

Beyond security fixes, the OTA performs system maintenance by removing unnecessary temporary files that accumulate during normal operation. This cleanup can free storage space and improve responsiveness on devices that have been in service since their early 2024 launch.

Samsung continues testing One UI 8.5 across multiple device families while preparing broader availability. The Galaxy S25 series received its sixth beta iteration last week, indicating advanced development stages for the upcoming interface overhaul.

Owners can check for availability through Settings > Software update > Download and install. Installation requires approximately five minutes with a device restart completing the process.
