RuneScape: Dragonwilds hits full 1.0 on September 15, bringing Jagex's open-world survival crafting game to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for the first time. The announcement landed during Summer Game Fest 2026, alongside confirmation that the game already sold over 1 million copies in Steam Early Access. The Ashenfall continent arrives on consoles as a day one title for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, as confirmed at Sony's State of Play. PC players on Steam and Epic Games Store get version 1.0 the same day.
September 15 lands in a crowded launch window. Marvel's Wolverine, Control Resonant, and Silent Hill: Townfall all ship that month, publishers clearing space ahead of Grand Theft Auto 6 in November.
Jagex is bundling two major content drops into the 1.0 release. The Scorned Wilderness update ships day one on all platforms, alongside all content from the upcoming Umbral Sands expansion arriving later this summer.
"Every update throughout Early Access has been shaped by player feedback, and we're incredibly proud of what we've built together," said Jesse America, Executive Producer of RuneScape: Dragonwilds, in a press release.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds adapts the 25-year-old MMORPG franchise into a four-player co-op survival game. Players explore Gielinor's uncharted Ashenfall continent, using anima-fueled magic to craft gear, fight dragons, and reach the Dragon Queen. The game blends RuneScape's skill-grinding loop with survival mechanics like potion brewing and gear crafting.
Console players get cross-platform parity at launch. The simultaneous PC-and-console rollout is a first for the franchise, which has spent most of its two-decade history as a browser and PC exclusive. The 1.0 milestone caps a rapid early access cycle. Dragonwilds entered Steam Early Access in April 2025 and cleared one million sales before leaving beta -- a strong signal that Jagex's bet on expanding the RuneScape IP beyond its core MMO audience is paying off.
