Nothing has begun teasing its Phone (4a) series with a five-color palette, signaling a March 2026 launch that could debut at Mobile World Congress. The London-based company posted a cryptic "Soon" message on X alongside an "(a)" logo rendered in blue, pink, yellow, black, and white dots.
CEO Carl Pei confirmed the mid-range lineup's arrival in a January YouTube video, outlining expected upgrades to display, camera, and performance.
The Phone (4a) and (4a) Pro will reportedly feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Industry sources point to a March 5 unveiling during MWC Barcelona, though Nothing has not confirmed the timing. The Pro variant recently surfaced on UAE's TDRA certification database with model number A069P, matching earlier European EPREL database filings that suggest coordinated global availability.
Pricing will likely increase from previous models. Leaks indicate the Phone (4a) could start at $475 with the Pro variant reaching $540, representing up to 30% higher than the Phone (3a) series. Pei cited rising memory costs driven by AI demand as a primary factor.
The color expansion marks a departure from Nothing's traditional black-and-white aesthetic. Previous A-series devices offered limited color options, while the new palette includes pink as a first for Nothing's smartphone lineup.
Technical specifications reportedly include a 5,080mAh battery with 50W wired charging, IP65 water and dust resistance, and a 120Hz flat OLED display. The upgrades appear incremental over the Phone (3a), which featured a 5,000mAh battery and Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset.
Nothing will not release a flagship Phone (4) in 2026, making the (4a) series the company's primary smartphone offering for the year.
"Every upgrade to feel significant."
Pei stated the company wants this rather than annual releases for their own sake.
The Phone (4a) series represents Nothing's attempt to balance premium features with mid-range positioning amid component cost pressures. With certifications completed and teasers circulating, the countdown to March has officially begun.
