Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 later this year alongside its full 1.0 release on other platforms. The announcement came during Nintendo's March 2026 Indie World Showcase, confirming the sequel's arrival on Nintendo's latest hardware.
Publisher 11 Bit Studios and developer Digital Sun revealed the Switch 2 version will arrive when the game exits early access for its complete launch. Moonlighter 2 currently remains available through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview with PC Game Pass support.
The sequel upgrades the original's pixel-art aesthetic to vibrant 3D worlds while maintaining the core shopkeeping and dungeon-crawling loop that defined the first game. Players alternate between exploring dangerous dimensions for loot and managing their merchant shop in a ragtag community of castaways.
Nintendo's showcase featured multiple immediate releases including Blue Prince, Rotwood, and Minishoot' Adventures available today on Switch 2. Other notable announcements included Blighted from Guacamelee! developers Drinkbox Studios arriving this fall and Mixtape launching May 7.
Moonlighter originally captured Switch players with its blend of action RPG combat and shop management mechanics. The sequel expands both systems with deeper dungeons, enhanced combat, and inventory management where strategic packing directly affects loot value.
The full 1.0 release will launch simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S with day-one Game Pass availability, and now Switch 2. Major updates continue rolling out through early access until the complete version arrives later in 2026.
