A fresh leak points to larger batteries for Samsung’s next top Galaxy S phones, with figures that also fuel talk of silicon-carbon cells in the non-folding flagships. Galaxy Club shared the reportedly final capacities for the two most expensive models, and secondary coverage has amplified the numbers without Samsung confirming them.
According to the report relayed by Android Authority, the Galaxy S27 Pro is said to carry a rated capacity of 5,087 mAh that would probably be marketed as a typical 5,200 mAh pack. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is described with a rated 5,534 mAh cell that could be advertised at a typical 5,700 mAh.
GSMArena carries the same alleged pair of figures from the same source chain.
Those levels would sit above the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s rated 4,855 mAh and advertised typical 5,000 mAh if the leak holds. Smartphone makers list two capacity numbers because real cells vary unit to unit: rated capacity is the guaranteed minimum, while typical capacity is the average figure often used in marketing.
Galaxy Club has not stated outright that the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra will use silicon-carbon batteries, yet the higher capacities are being read as evidence that Samsung may bring the denser anode chemistry to its next slab flagships. Chinese brands began adopting silicon-carbon packs around 2023, while Samsung long stuck with conventional lithium-ion cells.
Samsung has already put silicon-carbon batteries in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8, its first phones to ship with the tech and a path to more capacity without bulk. Observers see the S27 rumor as a possible extension of that shift beyond foldables.
Details on the standard Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ batteries remain pending. The series has been rumored as a four-model lineup, with an early-next-year Galaxy Unpacked reveal expected on Samsung’s recent cadence, though no announcement date is locked.
