Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8 have reached a combined 1.44 million pre-orders in South Korea, the country’s highest pre-order launch on record for the company. Yonhap News Agency reported the tally.
The total tops the 1.38 million devices Samsung sold during the Galaxy Note 10 pre-order period in 2019. The Galaxy S26 series is the next closest lineup at 1.35 million units.
The surge is tied to the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s new, more widely appealing form factor. The Fold 7 and Flip 7 barely crossed 1 million pre-orders in the same market.
Demand has strained Samsung’s website, and the company is delaying some shipments as more orders arrive.
Pre-orders are expected to keep climbing through the planned end of the phase on August 7, after which the current deals tied to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 are set to disappear. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra remain available, though buyers can expect some delays.
