Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.3 today, addressing two persistent design issues that frustrated users since the Liquid Glass interface overhaul. The update focuses on window resizing problems and Finder column view glitches that emerged with Tahoe's introduction.
This follows Apple's release candidate testing earlier this week.
The macOS Tahoe 26.3 release notes confirm the update "focuses on bug fixes and security updates rather than new features." This marks the third major update to the Tahoe operating system, arriving two months after version 26.2.
Window resizing became problematic after the Liquid Glass redesign introduced larger rounded corners. The visual change pushed approximately 75% of the clickable resize area outside visible window boundaries, according to analysis by Norbert Heger.
Users reported consistent failures when attempting to resize windows, a basic function that previously worked reliably for decades.
"Window resize areas now follow corner radius instead of using square regions,"
the company states in release notes. This adjustment should restore intuitive window manipulation that users expect.
Finder's column view suffered similar interface problems. The horizontal scrollbar covered column resizing widgets, preventing width adjustments in the columns view mode. macOS 26.3 repositions the scrollbar below the resize controls, restoring functionality to this long-standing Mac interface element.
Some users remain skeptical about complete fixes. Jeff Johnson noted "baby steps" in addressing the issues, suggesting further refinements may be needed.
The problems highlight challenges in balancing aesthetic changes with functional reliability in operating system design, similar to earlier design guideline violations in macOS Tahoe's menu icons.
Mac users can install the update through System Settings' Software Update section. Apple plans to begin testing macOS Tahoe 26.4 within weeks, with expectations of more substantial feature additions including potential Siri enhancements and new emoji.
