As anticipation builds for the official unveiling of Samsung's Galaxy Watch 6 lineup, leaked images have surfaced, indicating the return of a beloved feature based on previous rumors. The leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic, shared by MySmartPrice and reputable leaker OnLeaks, showcase the presence of a familiar rotating bezel that was regrettably absent from the Galaxy Watch 5 series.

The leaked images suggest that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic closely resembles the visual design of its predecessor, the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The renders portray an all-black design, featuring a brushed metal casing and a silicone wristband with a magnetic clasp. According to reports from SamMobile, the circular display of the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED screen, with an expected resolution of 470 x 470 pixels.

Observations from the leaked renders also reveal the presence of two buttons on the side, serving as navigation controls similar to previous Galaxy Watch models. While specific specifications were not provided with the leaks, SamMobile reports that the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic is anticipated to feature an Exynos W980 chipset, offering approximately 10 percent more speed compared to the Exynos W920 chipset found in the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 5 series.

In terms of features, the Galaxy Watch 6 series is expected to include sleep tracking, body composition analysis, a heart rate sensor, a temperature sensor, GPS, NFC, and a barometer. Rumors also suggest that the device will boast a larger 425mAh battery capacity, slightly surpassing the 410mAh battery of the 44mm Galaxy Watch 5 and the 361mAh battery of the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

The reintroduction of the rotating bezel in the Galaxy Watch 6 lineup is seen as a wise move by Samsung. Many dedicated fans of the Galaxy smartwatch series mourned the absence of this feature in the Galaxy Watch 5, which replaced it with a touch bezel. Our own wearables expert, Victoria Song, described this replacement as disappointing, emphasizing the advantages of the physical rotating bezel, particularly for active users with sweaty fingers.

While an official release date for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 has not been announced, industry expectations point to its debut at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, rumored to take place on July 26th. This event is also anticipated to showcase other devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9.
