It is very important for every user to understand that this feature is not a replacement for the baby monitor. It helps the parents with the hearing problems because each time the device detects the little one is crying, it will notify the user through light and vibration. Moreover, if you have a paired Gear smartwatch, the signal will be sent to the smartwatch as well.

In order to use the baby crying detector, you need to turn it on first, because many features on Samsung smartphones are disabled by default. Here is how to do that:

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Tap on Accessibility
  • Next, click on Hearing and then tap on Baby crying detector
  • To activate it, just move the switch
  • The warning message will appear on the screen, and make sure to read it carefully (it points out a few important things about this feature)
  • Once you read the message, click Confirm

You are ready to use the baby crying detector on your Samsung Galaxy S5.

If you want to disable this option, follow the same steps and move the switch next to Baby crying detector.
