Taking a screenshot on your Nothing Phone (2) is a breeze, whether you're saving a Glyph pattern you designed, capturing a bug report, or sharing a funny text thread. Nothing OS 3.0 on Android 15 includes all the standard Android methods plus a few convenient extras.
Use the Button Combo
The classic method works perfectly. Simply press the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time for a moment, then release. You'll see a quick flash and hear a shutter sound, with a small preview popping up in the corner. You can tap that preview to edit or share right away, or let it vanish and the image will save automatically to your gallery.
Use the Power Menu
With the power menu in Android 15, you have another quick option. Press and hold the Power button until the menu appears on screen. Right there, you'll see a Screenshot button. Tapping it instantly captures whatever was on your screen before you opened the menu, which is great if you find the button combo a bit fiddly.
Use Google Assistant
If your hands are full or you just prefer voice commands, this is the way to go. Just say, "Hey Google, take a screenshot." Your Phone (2) will capture the screen immediately. You can also activate Google Assistant manually and type the command. The screenshot saves directly to your Google Photos library.
Use the Quick Settings Tile
Swipe down from the top of your screen twice to pull down the full Quick Settings panel. Look for the Screenshot tile. If you don't see it, tap the pencil edit icon at the bottom to customize your tiles, then drag the Screenshot tile into your active set. Once it's there, a single tap will capture your screen anytime.
Capture a Scrolling Screenshot
This is perfect for saving long web articles or entire chat histories. After you take a regular screenshot using any method, look at the preview toolbar that appears at the bottom. Tap the icon that says Capture more or shows a downward arrow. Your phone will automatically scroll and extend the screenshot. You can keep tapping to capture as much length as you need, creating one seamless long image.
Edit and Share Immediately
As soon as you take a shot, tap the floating preview thumbnail. This opens Nothing's built-in editor where you can crop, draw, add text, or highlight parts of the image. From there, hit the share button to send it via any app like WhatsApp or Telegram instantly. If you skip the preview, the screenshot is already saved and ready to find later.
I find the editing tools on the Phone (2) are quite snappy, which makes marking up a screenshot before sending it a very quick process.
Find Your Screenshots Gallery
All your screenshots are neatly organized. Open the Google Photos app that comes pre-installed. Go to the Library tab at the bottom, then select the Screenshots album. Every capture you take will be waiting for you there. You can also find the raw image files in your device storage under Pictures > Screenshots.
Use a Three-Finger Swipe (If Enabled)
Some Android skins offer a gesture, and you can add one to your Nothing Phone (2) through accessibility settings. Go to Settings > System > Gestures and look for an option like "Touch & hold delay" or check under "System navigation" for added gestures. While not a default Nothing OS feature, third-party apps from the Play Store can also enable a three-finger swipe-down gesture to take a screenshot if you prefer that method.
Since the Phone (2) uses Gorilla Glass 5, which can be prone to micro-scratches, I'd recommend using a screen protector. A smooth protector can actually make swipe gestures feel even better.
