Garmin, a renowned name in the world of smartwatches, has recently introduced a pair of cutting-edge devices targeting adventurers and extreme fitness enthusiasts. Packed with top-of-the-line specifications, these high-end gadgets come with equally high-end price tags.

The Epix Pro series takes the spotlight with its standout feature: a vibrant and sharp AMOLED display. Embracing this design choice, Garmin ensures a vivid picture without compromising battery life. The watches also come equipped with a built-in flashlight featuring multiple intensities and a strobe mode. For darker conditions, users have the option of a red-only visual display. Additionally, the Epix Pro series boasts a range of advanced fitness features.

In terms of activities, the Epix Pro series offers an extensive selection of "dozens" of preloaded options, including soccer, basketball, horseback riding, and racquet sports, among others. Fitness enthusiasts will appreciate the inclusion of endurance scores and hill scores for advanced metric tracking. Runners and walkers receive notifications regarding points of interest along their routes. The updated devices provide weather map overlays to view local environmental conditions, along with improved shading for better comprehension of elevations within topographic maps. The Epix Pro line is already available and is offered in three sizes: 42mm, 47mm, and 51mm. Prices start at $900.

For serious explorers, Garmin introduces the Fenix 7 Pro series, which features solar charging capabilities, a powerful LED flashlight, mapping upgrades, and a red safety light. These additions are aimed at enhancing user awareness during training sessions in the dark. The heart rate sensor in the Fenix 7 Pro has received a significant boost, with new optical sensors and sport-specific algorithms that accurately track pulse rates across various activities.

It's important to note that the watch does not include an ECG app. Notable features include the new endurance score, which assesses the ease of engaging in prolonged physical activities by combining V02 sensors, hill scores, and previous training data. Similar to the Epix Pro, the Fenix 7 Pro showcases an updated mapping system with weather overlays, points of interest, and improvements to topographic maps. The device also offers new preloaded activities like whitewater rafting and motocross. The Fenix 7 Pro is available in multiple sizes and designs, with prices starting at $800.

Garmin's latest offerings cater to the demands of explorers and fitness enthusiasts who seek top-tier features and durability. With their advanced specifications and robust functionality, the Epix Pro and Fenix 7 Pro series are poised to elevate the user experience for those who value high-performance smartwatches.
